Description Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is having countrywide
presence with over 55 million wire line & wireless telephone
subscribers and offer hosts of other services like Data
communication, National long distance, International Long
Distance, Internet, Leased Line, etc. The Company proposes
to implement next generation State-of-Art Call Detail Record
(CDR) based Customer Care and Convergent Billing System.
The ultimate aim of BSNL is to implement the CDR based
Billing and Customer Care solution throughout India with four
zones and four data centers to provide a flexible system to
overcome the limitations of existing Meter Based system.
Mediation is a module, which collects CDR data from remote
exchanges to Data Centre. After collection, it performs
operations like CDR conversion, filtration, normalization,
Duplicate check, partial records stitching and output
management and finally distributes the mediated data to
downstream applications.
For implementation, we used the Intec Mediation system (IME).
In IME, we have developed the configuration for PSTN
switches. I am taking responsibility of EAST Zone, and
connecting to all the switches, which are getting ready for file
collection and mediating the data for billing. HCL is the
hardware support for this project.
The major functionality of the module includes.

• Testing the mediation output
• Review
• Co-ordination with clients

Description The CDRs after the conversion process, analyzed file continuity
and record continuity check for each switch types. In file
continuity, code has developed to identify the first valid CDR
and last valid CDR for all the files present of same switch type.
The sequence of files is identified by checking the difference of
timestamp of last CDR of first file and first CDR of next file. The
time period is termed as time gap. If the differences of
timestamps will more than the time period specified, then there
is some data lost between those timestamps. In the same way
of File continuity, Record continuity checks each file to find is
there any CDRs missed out in a file. The Time Gap Analysis is
made to check if any files/CDRs have been missed lost.
The major functionality of the project includes.
