Sector Overview
Scope of report
The report contains companies which result in energy conservation and energy saving by providing energy efficient products
and solutions. Equipment, products or solutions whose usage will provide significant energy savings above the market
standards and reduce energy usage when compared to normal conditions are covered under the scope of this report.
On Products side, the focus is on energy efficient lighting, appliances and equipment which can save energy without any
external intervention. Under lighting, LED's are the highly efficient lighting products when compared to incandescent and
fluorescent products and are covered under the scope of this report. Under Appliances & Equipments focus is on smart meters,
HVAC Systems, cooking stoves, smart fans, insulators and dehumidifiers.
Solutions that enable and sustain energy efficiency by monitoring and controlling the products installed in buildings to improve
energy savings are covered under the scope of this report. Generally these are not self saving energy efficient products but by
understanding the behaviour or by controlling the products or by addition as an retrofit they can save energy. Building energy
management systems (BEMS, IEMS, HEMS), web enabled lighting solutions, smart windows used in construction, and fuel and
engine monitoring are covered under solutions.
Traditional companies manufacturing energy star rated products or appliances and large conglomerates like Johnson Controls,
Schneider Electric, General Electric, Siemens, Honeywell, Carrier, Emerson, Philips are not covered under the scope. Installation
and service companies offering knowledge about energy efficient products or solutions are also not covered the scope of the
report.
The scope of this report includes equity as well as debt funding received by the companies.
