connections straight away to increase their comfort and create a
positive atmosphere
Example: Encourage participants to interact during catered meals.
Provide any information guests need up front
Example: Packing tips, fishing license registration information,
catering options etc.

DELIVERING THE EXPERIENCE
Tips for delivering the experience:
Deliver the program as planned but be flexible and adapt the
delivery to adjust to how the visitors are reacting and engaging with
the activities
Example: If someone isn’t comfortable fishing from a boat, find a
nice place along the shoreline to conduct the fishing excursion.
Pay attention to detail—remember special things guests say and
work them into the conversation
Example: A mother mentioned that her son loves making smores,
have a smore-making kit ready in their cabin upon their arrival.

SHOWCASING THE EXPERIENCE
Pictures speak louder than words!
People want to see themselves in
photos. Most great photos are
planned but still feel natural.
Shots are from a traveller’s point of
view so that people can easily
imagine themselves at the scene.
Photos should not feel staged, but
ensure they are top quality and
invest in a professional photographer.
5. Share the story
Post testimonials along with images to share the story from your
guest’s perspective.
Capturing videos is also another great way to showcase
experiences. People are drawn to watching videos, especially the
millennial market, so try and capture as much videography as
possible during the season.
Showcasing the experience across all platforms will engage new
customers from similar markets.

BENCHMARKING AND IMPROVEMENTS
In order to build upon your experiences and improve imperfections,
you need to measure success and gather feedback.
After the guests have departed ensure you gather guest and
partner feedback to evaluate the experience, value, etc.
Have a post-guest communications strategy in place: connect with
your visitors, learn from them, share with them and invite
them back
Monitor what is said about your company in your guest book and
on social media sites such as TripAdvisor to learn what visitors
loved and what could be improved upon
