Marlowe House, they knew they could trust us to do it right.
Once the space had been taken back to a shell, we were
able to get started on design and installation elements,

ceiling in the 890sq ft. space. Once gutted, the area had a new electrical system
designed, installed and commissioned. New air conditioning and ventilation was

up the existing slabs and laid groundwork's for the conservatory. We made
structural alterations to the front of the building and internal walls to facilitate the
new reception area as the original and entrance were relocated, which involved:
removing the original doors and windows, bricking up the openings they left
behind, as well as removing the existing concrete ramp and handrails.

Over 18 years ago, Axis attended a maintenance
call from Credit Suisse to fix a squeaky door.
Since then, we’ve grown organically with our
Fortune 500 client, absorbing their many Fabric
Service requirements to continually support the
changing needs of their business and building.
“Axis’ team move around the building and
carry out their work with the minimum of disruption.
They adopt our corporate culture and working practices
into the way they conduct themselves and manage
interactions with some of the most senior (and
demanding) people in the organisation.”

New cubicles installed which included modern
vanity units and sanitary ware. Painting and
decorating completed the high-end finish.
Refurbishments included, new flooring, ceiling and
lighting, installation of partition walls.
Works were phased across the
floors and scheduled out-of-hours to
reduce disruption to the numerous
financial organisations that remained
occupying the 9,000 m2 office
building.
Moves & Changes
Moving office – whether to a
different floor, a different building,
or even a different Country – is
never just about moving desks.
At Axis, we’ve helped banking
institutions adapt quickly to market
conditions, high-end brands create
environments that wow their
customers, and corporate landlords
create more workstations within the
same space.
Working around times that suit
your business.
Our service provides office changes from basic
reorganisation through to the planning and execution of
large-scale moves. Our strategic management approach
ensures everything from space-planning, logistics and
storage through to IT equipment testing and deep cleaning
are in place before the first box is packed – this direct
control ensures business continuity for our clients.
Such attention to detail is one of the many reasons why
we’ve worked with Credit Suisse for 18 years as an
in-house facility, providing nearly 5,000 moves in one
year alone. In one project we moved 400 people onto
the tenth floor of their Canary Wharf offices over two
weekends.

Chelmsford’s architectural and historic
significance meant that Axis had to work
closely with the City Council’s conservation
specialists in order to ensure that the
appearance of the store was in keeping
with the character of the local area. Our
Design and Development Manager took
the lead on this aspect of he project,
successfully coordinating with both the
Council and Swarovski to guarantee that
the appearance of the store
met the requirements of both parties.
