1. Quadriga Project Profiles
By Lindsay Law
In recent years we have experienced an awakening in a need for the conservation
of our heritage. A specialist approach is needed which combines a thorough
understanding of traditional building crafts and the latest advances in technology.
Quadrigas’ work illustrates how traditional, as well as contemporary repair solutions,
can be used in conservation, restoration and preservation.

7. The Pier Head Building, Cardiff
The Pier Head Building is a very grand example of Victorian architecture.
The terracotta with ferrous dowels resulted in corrosion/expansion along
with cracking/spalling of the detail to this 1802 building.
Resin bonding and pinning proved to be a very useful repair technique for
this historic building project.
8. Resin Bonding & Pinning
Gargoyles where painstakingly put back together like a jigsaw using steel pins and resin
bonding. The final piece was resin bonded together and then fixed to the steel armature
Projecting from the façade.
A fully restored gargoyle drainage outlet
and duck head ornate relief fully restored
9. Relief Panel Restored
Corroding steelwork behind this relief panel to the Pier Head Building had caused
structural fracturing of the terracotta which had to be removed, steel blasted
and a bitumen based protective coat applied.
This was followed by the installation of new terracotta.
10. Terracotta Restoration
New Bond Street
Working from old photographs and what detail remained of the original façade,
we were able to recreate what had been at No27 previously using our in house
terracotta designer.

of the new frontage
12. 27 New Bond Street, London
Some original detail did get uncovered which gave us the opportunity
to take accurate presses of the relief work
13. 27 New Bond Street, London
