2. Process
When creating my test game I focused
mostly on what the background
looked like.
I also looked at how the timeline is
used.
For my test game I am quite unhappy
with how it came out because I didn't
have a lot of time to practice my skills
before having to create my actual
game.
I decided that I wanted to create an experiment that mostly focused on the background so
that when it comes to creating my own came I will have a good understanding on how to
design my background quite well so that it looks good but also doesn’t draw the attention
away from the actual game play.
3. Process
For this experiment I
looked more into how the
character moves. To do
this I looked into how a
timeline works on
Photoshop so that when it
comes to creating my final
game, I will understand
clearly how to use
Photoshop and its tools.
I experimented a lot with the timeline. I
looked into different lengths for each
frame to see which would work best.
For this game I found that 0.2 seconds work best because
it made the walking sequence not look to jumpy.
4. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• For my first test game I didn't’t create a pixel character, this wont help
when it comes to creating my actual game because I will have to create a
walking sequence from scratch. I decided to do this because I wanted to
focus mostly on the background so when it comes to creating my game I
will know what will work and what wont work, such as colours and styles.
• For my second test game, I looked into the movement of the character
because when it comes to my own game I will have to created my own
pixelated character and design its own walking sequence.
