Target Audience Profile

1. TARGET AUDIENCE
PROFILE
It is really important to make sure that when you are creating a film that you have looked at the target audience.
This is because if they haven’t thought about who their target audience is then it is going to be much harder to
promote there film. Therefore I am going to try and identify the key aspects to having the right target audience.

2. TARGET AUDIENCE
The age range of which we have chosen is between 15 and mid 30`s. I think that between
15 because a lot of teenagers will like that it is quite creepy but they also need to be
mature enough to understand the situation. Also this is the age rating on the film
therefore it couldn’t be aimed at younger teenagers or children. If they were any younger
I believe that it would confuse them with the storyline but it would also scare them. I
think that it will also only go up to around the age of 35. This is because I think that the
storyline is aimed at young adults as they are the main characters in the film therefore
they can relate to the characters. I think that elder adults wouldn’t enjoy it as they don’t
have the same understanding on how the teenagers act and what they enjoy to watch.

3. GENDER
I don’t think that there is a particular gender audience for this clip. This is because I
believe that both genders will enjoy it. Although there isn’t a particular audience I
think that it will attract more of a male audience rather than females. This is because
it has a very male dominated storyline and the males are the main characters.
Therefore I think the audience will be able to relate most to the male characters and
they will be able to understand them better. I think that the male audience will enjoy
the argumentative side of the clip as it is very up-front and an intense clip for them
to watch.

4. MEDIA INTERESTS
I think that the people who are most likely to watch our clip are people who are into
other television dramas. For example I think that people who have watched Fox`s
television series Prison Break and also Breaking Bad are very likely to like it. This is
because it is rather tense and will intrigue and grip the audience just like these television
programs. I think that they are all along the same lines of a `job` going wrong or their
lifestyles not being the way they should be doing rebellious acts. I also think that people
who are into their investigating films, films that are a mystery the whole way through to
find a solution will most probably want to watch this also. This is because they will want
to be able to watch it and find out how this intense dramatic scene happens and how it
will be resolved.

5. PSYCHOGRAPHIC PROFILE
I think that these profiles were relatively easy to decide on. This is because they
are the most obvious ones for this category. I think that a couple of the other
options were ruled out straight away, for example the one about the elderly as
they are not likely to like it. I think that these are the right four for our target
audience.
