PTC-R Rubber Catalytic Reviving Agent
This product can produce general reclaimed rubber under normal and high temperature,
applicable to rubber mechano-chemical reclaiming, the reclaiming of the open mill or the
internal mixer, high-speed stirring reclaiming, extruder reclaiming, etc.; this product has
simple technique, small usage and fast effect and is both economical and environmental.
Technical Specifications of PTC-R Rubber Catalytic Reviving Agent:
Application: This product is applicable to the reviving of NR, SR and their blends as well as the scorching rubber powder.
Appearance: sandy beige powder
Softening Point℃: 74-87
Heating Loss: (105℃) %: ≤ 11
Burning Loss: (850℃) %: ≤ 23
Dosage: 0.5-2 parts by weight
Simple method of use: grind the waste rubber on the open mill, and then add PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent and mix, and then
sheet.
Packing and storage: 20kg of woven bags (lined with bag films), can be stored for two years in dry places at room temperature
without direct sunlight.
Principle:
As the atomic energy of the PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent
and the sulfur atom lone pair electrons of the organic sulfur
compounds form coordinate bond and make the S-S bond and S-C
bond abate, the PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent has a
catalytic effect on the optional break of the S-S bond and S-C
bond. As PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent has more
devulcanizing options, and there are few breaks of the chain C-C
bond in the process of reclaiming, the reclaimed rubber has higher
physical property.
PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent can be applied to the
reclaiming of the soft rubber, rubber and plastic leftover bits and
pieces, self-vulcanized rubber, etc.
Basic Technique:
Make the waste rubber shattered, clean and dry, and mix with
PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent, fully blend the waste rubber
on the stirring machine and then put them in the place under room
temperature and low temperature, and then roll repeatedly on the
open mill.
Process flow: primary sorting of waste rubber powder→ screening
→ washing→ drying→ mixing→ pre-treating→ refining→
reclaimed rubber.

As the physical property of the reclaimed tread rubber by PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent is good, this kind of rubber is applicable
to retreading tread rubber and cycle tire rubber with mixing amount up to 50 %( raw rubber 50%), saving a large amount of raw rubber
and improving the economic efficiency.
The physical property determining of the mix of different portion of reclaimed tread rubber revived by PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving
agent and raw rubber is shown in table 2.

After the test of practical driving, the retreaded tires made by 30% PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent reclaimed tread rubber and 70%
raw rubber completely conform to the requirements relevant to quality.
Application of PTC-R Rubber Catalytic Reviving Agent
PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent has good reclaiming
activation property. The reclaiming process is finished under the
effect of oxygen and mechanical force, mainly depending on the
break of the sulfur bond with few main chain breaks, so that it helps
keep the original strength property of the rubber. This kind of
rubber has higher physical and mechanical property, lower energy
consumption and pollution and more simple technique than
traditional reclaimed rubber.
Application Examples:
Ⅰ. Reclaiming of tire tread rubber
Example 1.
Use the 16〞open mill, add 25 kg of waste tread rubber powder to each mill (40 meshes), 1%PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent,10%
softener, the reviving process will be finished after milling for 25 min, and the physical property of the reclaimed and vulcanized rubber
is shown in Table 1.

Ⅲ、Summary:
The PTC-R rubber reclaiming technique uses simple production
equipment, which can produce the reclaimed rubber by using the
open mill without producing the three wastes (waste gas, waste
water, industrial residue). The reclaimed rubber produced has
high tensile strength and can be used to mix with superior rubber
products. PTC-R technique can not only be applicable to the
reclaiming of the waste tire rubber but also to other waste
vulcanized rubber. In addition, this kind of technique is also
applicable to the reclaiming of the leftover bits and pieces of all
kinds of rubber products factory and self-vulcanized rubber.
Ⅳ、Notice:
1. If the inherent quality of the waste rubber is good, so is that of
the reclaimed rubber.
2. Waste rubber powder screened and washed has high purity and
small particle diameter, relatively larger specific surface area,
faster PTC-R rubbe r catalytic reviving agent reaction speed and
shorter reclaimed time and the quality of the reclaimed rubber is
better.
3. The variety and proportion of the reclaimed rubber, plasticizer
and softener also have some influences.
4. The roll pitch, roll temperature and mill running times of the
rubber fining mixer are also quite important to the quality of the
reclaimed rubber.
5. After mixing the rubber powder and PTC-R rubber catalytic
reviving agent and other chemical materials, increase the
pre-conditioning time and the temperature, and mix for 12h at the
low temperature of 50℃~ 60℃. The temperature of the rubber
powder should be kept at 40℃~ 50℃ so that the chemical
reaction speed of the PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent and
the rubber powder can be accelerated and the open mill can work
timely. In order to save energy, it is recommended to use the
stirring machine to blend the PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving
agent and the rubber powder, after laying aside for 24h at normal
temperature, and then mix and refine. As the effect of the
mechanical force caused by the calendering of the mill roll, the
chemo-mechanical synergistic effect is achieved and the
reclaiming time is shorten. But excessively high temperature,
long preconditioning time and small roll pitch and long time
milling will destroy the main chain structure of the rubber and
reduce the power of the reclaimed rubber.
6. We have corresponding automatic folding equipment to
coordinate with production, reduce labor intensity and save
energy.
7. We use high-speed stirring and low-speed cooling stirring
machine to produce reclaimed rubber with high efficiency and
fast sheet, and specific techniques are as follows:
Method of producing reclaimed rubber on the high-speed stirring
machine
Equipment: high-speed stirring machine, low-speed cooler, the
open mill and the refining mill.
Material: 28-60 meshes waste rubber powder, PTC-R rubber
catalytic reviving agent,rosin, rubber white oil.
Example 1.
Waste tire tread rubber powder (28 meshes) 30kg, PTC-R rubber
catalytic reviving agent 0.4kg, rosin 1.2kg, rubber white oil
1.2kg. Stir for 15 min in the 100 L high-speed stirring machine,
add 0.3kg of water when the temperature of the rubber powder is
60�, and put the powder into the cooling stirring machine for 7
min when the temperature of the rubber powder is 160�, and
then knead the powder on the open mill and sheet out from the
refining mill and the reclaiming process will be finished.
Example 2.
Waste shoe sole rubber powder (60 meshes) 50kg, PTC-R rubber
catalytic reviving agent 0.65kg, rosin 2kg, rubber white oil 2kg.
Stir for 15 min in the 200L high-speed stirring machine, add
0.5kg of water when the temperature of the rubber powder is
60�, and put the powder into the cooling stirring machine for 7
min when the temperature of the rubber powder is 170�, and
then knead the powder on the open mill and sheet out from the
refining mill and the reclaiming process will be finished.
Output: one ton every 8h by 200L high-speed stirring machine
Ⅴ、Differences between PTC-R rubber catalytic
reviving agent and RV rubber reclaiming agent
1. The reclaimed rubber produced by PTC-R rubber catalytic
reviving agent is as the same as common reclaimed rubber
produced by dynamic devulcanizer and needs to add accelerator
and sulfur to be vulcanized, and needs to be inspected by the
standard of The Reclaimed Rubber.
2. The revived rubber produced by RV rubber reclaiming agent is
the rubber of the final rubber compound and can be vulcanized
without adding any vulcanizing agent or accelerator.
3. The usage is different, 100kg of rubber powder: 0.5-2kg of
PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent. 100kg of rubber powder:
3kg of RV.
4. PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent can be used both at
normal temperature and high temperature. RV rubber reclaiming
agent can be used at low temperature only.
Example 2.
Use the 16” open mill, add 0.5% PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent to each mill per 12kg of waste tread rubber powder, grind for 20
min, then lay them aside for 24h and then add 0.5% PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent and 20% softener, the process will be
finished after milling for 25 min, and relevant physical property of the reclaimed and vulcanized rubber is shown in Table 3.

2.Reclaiming of HSBR like shoes leftover bits and pieces
Add 2%PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent after grinding the like shoes leftover bits and pieces on a 9” open mill, and then add
adequate softener to mill. 10kg of reclaimed rubber can be got each hour, and the reclaimed rubber can be used to produce the rubber
that can be used to make like shoes again. Relevant physical property of the reclaimed rubber is shown on table 5.

In addition, PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent can be used to revive vulcanized rubber.
Ⅱ、Reclaiming of the waste latex and rubber and plastic leftover bits and pieces
1.Reclaiming of the waste latex gloves
Use the 16” open mill, add 1% PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent to each mill 10-15kg of waste latex gloves, grind for 15min, and
then add 5-10% softener, and mill for 20 min, then the physical property of the reclaimed latex is close to 2# or 3#ribbed smoked
sheets, and relevant physical property is shown in Table 4.

PTC-R Rubber Catalytic Reviving Agent

  • 1. PTC-R Rubber Catalytic Reviving Agent This product can produce general reclaimed rubber under normal and high temperature, applicable to rubber mechano-chemical reclaiming, the reclaiming of the open mill or the internal mixer, high-speed stirring reclaiming, extruder reclaiming, etc.; this product has simple technique, small usage and fast effect and is both economical and environmental. Technical Specifications of PTC-R Rubber Catalytic Reviving Agent: Application: This product is applicable to the reviving of NR, SR and their blends as well as the scorching rubber powder. Appearance: sandy beige powder Softening Point℃: 74-87 Heating Loss: (105℃) %: ≤ 11 Burning Loss: (850℃) %: ≤ 23 Dosage: 0.5-2 parts by weight Simple method of use: grind the waste rubber on the open mill, and then add PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent and mix, and then sheet. Packing and storage: 20kg of woven bags (lined with bag films), can be stored for two years in dry places at room temperature without direct sunlight.
  • 2. Principle: As the atomic energy of the PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent and the sulfur atom lone pair electrons of the organic sulfur compounds form coordinate bond and make the S-S bond and S-C bond abate, the PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent has a catalytic effect on the optional break of the S-S bond and S-C bond. As PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent has more devulcanizing options, and there are few breaks of the chain C-C bond in the process of reclaiming, the reclaimed rubber has higher physical property. PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent can be applied to the reclaiming of the soft rubber, rubber and plastic leftover bits and pieces, self-vulcanized rubber, etc. Basic Technique: Make the waste rubber shattered, clean and dry, and mix with PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent, fully blend the waste rubber on the stirring machine and then put them in the place under room temperature and low temperature, and then roll repeatedly on the open mill. Process flow: primary sorting of waste rubber powder→ screening → washing→ drying→ mixing→ pre-treating→ refining→ reclaimed rubber. The physical property determining of the mix of different portion of reclaimed tread rubber revived by PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent and raw rubber is shown in table 2. Application of PTC-R Rubber Catalytic Reviving Agent PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent has good reclaiming activation property. The reclaiming process is finished under the effect of oxygen and mechanical force, mainly depending on the break of the sulfur bond with few main chain breaks, so that it helps keep the original strength property of the rubber. This kind of rubber has higher physical and mechanical property, lower energy consumption and pollution and more simple technique than traditional reclaimed rubber. Application Examples: Ⅰ. Reclaiming of tire tread rubber Example 1. Use the 16〞open mill, add 25 kg of waste tread rubber powder to each mill (40 meshes), 1%PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent,10% softener, the reviving process will be finished after milling for 25 min, and the physical property of the reclaimed and vulcanized rubber is shown in Table 1.   • 3. Ⅲ、Summary: The PTC-R rubber reclaiming technique uses simple production equipment, which can produce the reclaimed rubber by using the open mill without producing the three wastes (waste gas, waste water, industrial residue). The reclaimed rubber produced has high tensile strength and can be used to mix with superior rubber products. PTC-R technique can not only be applicable to the reclaiming of the waste tire rubber but also to other waste vulcanized rubber. In addition, this kind of technique is also applicable to the reclaiming of the leftover bits and pieces of all kinds of rubber products factory and self-vulcanized rubber. Ⅳ、Notice: 1. If the inherent quality of the waste rubber is good, so is that of the reclaimed rubber. 2. Waste rubber powder screened and washed has high purity and small particle diameter, relatively larger specific surface area, faster PTC-R rubbe r catalytic reviving agent reaction speed and shorter reclaimed time and the quality of the reclaimed rubber is better. 3. The variety and proportion of the reclaimed rubber, plasticizer and softener also have some influences. 4. The roll pitch, roll temperature and mill running times of the rubber fining mixer are also quite important to the quality of the reclaimed rubber. 5. After mixing the rubber powder and PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent and other chemical materials, increase the pre-conditioning time and the temperature, and mix for 12h at the low temperature of 50℃~ 60℃. The temperature of the rubber powder should be kept at 40℃~ 50℃ so that the chemical reaction speed of the PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent and the rubber powder can be accelerated and the open mill can work timely. In order to save energy, it is recommended to use the stirring machine to blend the PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent and the rubber powder, after laying aside for 24h at normal temperature, and then mix and refine. As the effect of the mechanical force caused by the calendering of the mill roll, the chemo-mechanical synergistic effect is achieved and the reclaiming time is shorten. But excessively high temperature, long preconditioning time and small roll pitch and long time milling will destroy the main chain structure of the rubber and reduce the power of the reclaimed rubber. 6. We have corresponding automatic folding equipment to coordinate with production, reduce labor intensity and save energy. 7. We use high-speed stirring and low-speed cooling stirring machine to produce reclaimed rubber with high efficiency and fast sheet, and specific techniques are as follows: Method of producing reclaimed rubber on the high-speed stirring machine Equipment: high-speed stirring machine, low-speed cooler, the open mill and the refining mill. Material: 28-60 meshes waste rubber powder, PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent,rosin, rubber white oil. Example 1. Waste tire tread rubber powder (28 meshes) 30kg, PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent 0.4kg, rosin 1.2kg, rubber white oil 1.2kg. Stir for 15 min in the 100 L high-speed stirring machine, add 0.3kg of water when the temperature of the rubber powder is 60�, and put the powder into the cooling stirring machine for 7 min when the temperature of the rubber powder is 160�, and then knead the powder on the open mill and sheet out from the refining mill and the reclaiming process will be finished. Example 2. Waste shoe sole rubber powder (60 meshes) 50kg, PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent 0.65kg, rosin 2kg, rubber white oil 2kg. Stir for 15 min in the 200L high-speed stirring machine, add 0.5kg of water when the temperature of the rubber powder is 60�, and put the powder into the cooling stirring machine for 7 min when the temperature of the rubber powder is 170�, and then knead the powder on the open mill and sheet out from the refining mill and the reclaiming process will be finished. Output: one ton every 8h by 200L high-speed stirring machine Ⅴ、Differences between PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent and RV rubber reclaiming agent 1. The reclaimed rubber produced by PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent is as the same as common reclaimed rubber produced by dynamic devulcanizer and needs to add accelerator and sulfur to be vulcanized, and needs to be inspected by the standard of The Reclaimed Rubber. 2. The revived rubber produced by RV rubber reclaiming agent is the rubber of the final rubber compound and can be vulcanized without adding any vulcanizing agent or accelerator. 3. The usage is different, 100kg of rubber powder: 0.5-2kg of PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent. 100kg of rubber powder: 3kg of RV. 4. PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent can be used both at normal temperature and high temperature. RV rubber reclaiming agent can be used at low temperature only.
  • 4. Example 2. Use the 16” open mill, add 0.5% PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent to each mill per 12kg of waste tread rubber powder, grind for 20 min, then lay them aside for 24h and then add 0.5% PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent and 20% softener, the process will be finished after milling for 25 min, and relevant physical property of the reclaimed and vulcanized rubber is shown in Table 3. Relevant physical property of the reclaimed rubber is shown on table 5. Ⅱ、Reclaiming of the waste latex and rubber and plastic leftover bits and pieces 1.Reclaiming of the waste latex gloves Use the 16” open mill, add 1% PTC-R rubber catalytic reviving agent to each mill 10-15kg of waste latex gloves, grind for 15min, and then add 5-10% softener, and mill for 20 min, then the physical property of the reclaimed latex is close to 2# or 3#ribbed smoked sheets, and relevant physical property is shown in Table 4.
