“Providing a highly technical team, being able to
support a number of clients around the world, seeing
their reactions, feeling their positive energy when a
complex situation or project has been completed is
our main goal to all our clients, and bringing them
comfort affords a sense of inspiration to myself and
all of our team members.”
After obtaining his Ph.D. in Environmental Science
and Engineering from Clarkson University in 2006,
Timothy R McAuley started his career by managing
and designing a full scale human health exposure assessment
study in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It was the first study of
its kind looking at child respiratory illness from air pollution.
In 2008, Dr. McAuley become the State Toxicologist for
the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MADPH)
where he was responsible for various environmental issues
that arose throughout the state while managing a team of
health professionals. In early 2009, Dr. McAuley have earned
recognition from his work and expertise, formed Consulting for
Health, Air, Nature, & a Greener Environment, LLC (CHANGE).
Because his degree focused on air quality, human health
exposure, and risk assessment, Timothy wanted to utilize this
specificity in his career.
“I’ve always had a passion to contribute
to the continual growth and change in the
environmental markets. Things are never
static and as a result there is always a level of
excitement and anticipated effort.”
In his role as the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive
Officer of CHANGE, Timothy’s main task is to oversee the
domestic and global operations and growth of his company.
He’s also responsible for forging new relationships while
continually servicing and maintaining the ones already in
place. He’s in charge of handling the executive decisions of the
company, ensuring that they reach they company’s strategic
goals. These goals were designed, and remain in place to
ensure they company always operating at its highest capacity.
“One of the most important things for me, is seeing the
satisfaction that our clients get when working with our team
to solve their most complex problems. When our clients find
their resolve, that feeling is always rewarding and makes doing
what I do each day worth every minute. ”
As the author of several key research papers, Timothy has
assisted in changing the way a particular environmental
research is conducted. He has also authored a book focusing
on the cardiovascular impacts to ultrafine particle exposures.
“From my research and expertise, I have been able to contribute
my knowledge to many boards and expert committees.”
Timothy feels fortunate enough not to have faced any
specifically difficult challenges in his career.
“Due to strategic planning and design I have been able to avoid
any insurmountable tasks or circumstances. However, I have
learned from those that have failed and have taken the time
to learn why and then ensured that those same issues didn’t
become part of my business challenges.”
As he studied those who came before him, Timothy learned
that patience is key.
“I’ve learned to accept that at any moment,
things can change. One must be able to adapt
in such a way that you’ll continue to move
forward.”
It’s imperative, Timothy knows, to always have a good plan a
good plan is always in place to ensure that a company can still
be profitable. Over the past few years, Timothy has learned to
always keep working hard, and pursuing goals.
“I’m a passionate business leader with a drive to always be
better and to develop new and innovative ways to stay on top.
I love what I do and treat each and every person I come across
with the utmost respect and dignity.”
When he’s not working, Timothy spends his time mentoring
students and conducts pro bono entrepreneurship lectures
to help new and current business owners to maximize their
businesses. For leisurely activities, he enjoys golfing and
spending quality time with his family and friends.
“I’d like for everyone to see that if you believe
in your dreams and ambitions and are willing to
work hard, the once impossible become reality.
To learn that it’s good to embrace and welcome
challenge, as you can only be successful if you
dare to confront what can only be imagined.”

Q&A
Q: What is the single most important factor in running your
business?
A: Timing. Having your finger on the pulse of the moment is
extremely important.
Q: How does your company adapt to changing regulations/
policies/laws?
A: Many of the folks within the company are actually on the
boards, committees, and heavily involved as experts that
are responsible for setting new regulations, policies, and
laws. Therefore, the understanding and transference of our
knowledge to our clients is very easy.
Q: How does CHANGE continue to build a strong global client
base?
A: By always maintaining a professional and transparent
relationship with all of our clients. We never over commit, never
over promise, and we always tell our clients the truth.
Q: How does CHANGE remain price competitive in the
environmental market?
A: Through our highly innovative net positive cash flow model
we are able to provide our clients with budgets consisting of
no overhead and no mark ups. This results in outstanding
competitive budgets for all our clients that is highly competitive
vs. our competitors. Through this we are also able to provide
various contracting mechanisms to meet any budget. This also
includes being able to pull in local teams on five continents that
are established for supporting our projects that dramatically
cuts cost vs. larger companies having to fly staff and/or open
offices in regions that becomes highly expensive and thus
results in clients paying more.
Q: What has been a key strategic move that has put CHANGE
on top?
A: By developing key relationships with other global experts
and bringing them under the CHANGE umbrella so that each
project we do we have the necessary and experienced experts
working on those projects.
Q: What type of market does CHANGE primarily do business
domestically and globally?
A: CHANGE primarily consults with private companies,
such as commercial clients. We are fortunate to have a very
robust group of clients across several different market sectors
comprising investment companies, hospitals, private and
public companies, NGO’s, NPO’s, legal firms and community
organizations.
Q: What type of business structure is CHANGE?
A: CHANGE is a certified Veteran Owned Small Business.
Q: Where do you see CHANGE in the next five years?
A: CHANGE is looking to continue to lead the environmental
consulting and research industries by renewing each year our
core values and strengths to best represent our clients. We
are also looking at the possibility of growth through mergers
and acquisitions of some strategic clean energy companies to
expand our market presence in these sectors to close the loop
and be all around at the top of the environmental market.
Q: Does CHANGE have any known competitors?
A:CHANGEdoesnotbelieveincompetition.Wehavesupported
a number of environmental companies and their clients across
several sectors with many of these companies on paper having
similar services. We also feel that given our extreme robust
nature of experts that I have brought together and the depth of
the team and our partners that it is hard for other companies to
be as not only talent but also cost competitive with CHANGE.
Q: Do you foresee acquisition of CHANGE in the future and is
this of interest to you?
A: There have been offers for the acquisition of CHANGE. This
would potentially be of interest if the company or group that
was looking to acquire CHANGE shared the same vision and
mission that has led CHANGE to be a dominating company in
the environmental world.
