- Hi. I‘m Taiga Kashio and I would like to introduce “how to solve a congestion in trains.” To begin with, I would tell you why did I choose this topic.
- First, I love “densha-otoko” which is a TV drama 11 years ago. The summary of this drama is The supposedly true story of a 23-year-old otaku (Japanese geek) who intervenes when a drunk man is harassing several women on a train. The otaku ultimately begins dating one of the women, and posts on a website asking for advice every step of the way. I believe this drama is very romantic and also Misaki Ito, who is a famous actress is so beautiful. That’s why I love this drama. Second, every morning, most workers and students use trains and this is a kind of social problem in Japan. So if train congestions got solved, it would be a high degree of contribution for workers and students.
- There are 2 situations. Firstable, there are many people who get on trains for working or going school every morning. You know a few people do not use transportations like Rei but most people use them. Second, According to a rail company, riding capacity of general trains is about 150 people per a car. (一両) So, let’ s move on to the PROBLEM.
- There are roughly divided into two types of problem. First one is as you know guys we cannot be relaxed or comfortable because of so much congestion and this is called 「寿司詰め」 「通勤地獄」 「殺人的混雑」 in Japanese. According to a statistics of Yamanote Line, in morning rush hour, more than 300 people get on only one car (一両に) you know as I told you before riding capacity is 150 people but about twice people get on the train. That is why we cannot be relaxed. Also this situation makes us irritated and sometimes it becomes a cause of trouble. Second one is the number of train groper (痴漢) seems to be increasing although suspected person does not molest (モレスト) . That means suspected person gets arrested by false accusation (冤罪). For instance, それでもボクはやってない, which is a Japanese film in 2006, is based on false accusation of train groper. Actually, after watched this movie, many people were terribly shocked how much false accusation brings false charged person to the gates of hell. So, that‘s the end of problem. Next, I would like to tell you guys about response.
- There are 2 responses. First response is, use Double Decker trains. As you know, most trains are left one and this type of train‘s riding capacity is only 150 people. Although it may cost a lot to make Double Decker trains, we should use Double Decker trains which riding capacity is more than 300 people for their comforts. Second response is, reduce sheets. The left one is the most common style of trains. But, if the structure of trains changed like right one, how‘s ganna happen? This structure helps more people being able to get on and have enough space. So, this is the end of RESPONSE. next is EVALUATION.
- There are 2 evaluations. First one is, we can be relaxed and comfortable on the trains because we are able to have enough space. Also we will not be irritated by train congestions anymore!!!! Second one is, decrease the number of false accusation. This is a very good news for men. But, be careful, it does not necessarily mean even if you did molester, you would not get arrested.
