1. I was the General Manager at Wallin's Dive Center in San Carlos where I was in charge of over 30 staff
members, inventory, instruction, curriculum and pricing for profit. I teach environmental education
habitually as well as scuba diving in the Monterey Bay area. I am a steward to the local marine
environment and attempt to share my love for this water world to all I encounter. I am capable of
working in a fast paced team environment, successfully ran an instructional teaching facility and have a
background in local environmentalism.
I returned to welcoming arms at MSI in 2011, after my previous employer closed their doors. I feel that
because of my love of teaching and spectacular people skills I have always been able to come and go as
I please. I decided to return to school to pursue some developmental instruction and expand my own
personal database of knowledge. Having filled many roles here in the Bay Area I recognize my own
success every day with the people I know and the individual hearts I touch.
I was delighted to be offered the position of Community Outreach Coordinator after the birth of my
son in 2013. I was ecstatic for this position to become available. Working with a corporation whose
mission is one I already have great confidence in and support is like a dream come true. I am incredibly
happy to be able to embrace my marketing experiences in a development capacity to support the
efforts of the Marine Science Institute
Public speaking is one gift I offer along with detailed organization, tracking information and the ability
to be creative and resourceful. I appreciate the opportunity to focus on marketing and
communications. I have promoted for both a small business and a non-profit, having to modify
documents that promote my message and idioms for a specific purpose. I have the proficiency to
improve my own work as well as my teammates and have the resourcefulness to locate valuable
information in regards to whatever project I am working on. I am also capable of multi-tasking, working
on multiple assignments at once and completing projects on time.
Aside from my writing abilities, I have experience in many content management systems like Word
press or Hoot suite, as well as search engine navigation and online networking. Whatever the research
task I may be involved with I pursue it with energy and interest. I have also worked closely with
vendors and business partners on a variety of projects, whether they were for fundraising or other
events. Additionally I have collaborated with printing suppliers and bulk mailing technicians to create
event flyers and mailers and achieve the delivery of time sensitive materials and correspondence. My
experiences also include working with relational programs like Novomaris, meticulously tracking and
recording prospective and current client information. I have also had the unique opportunities to
develop large scale events that include sizeable donations, raffles and seminars.
I have engaged in numerous courses, workshops and conferences in regards to business management,
social media marketing, advertising, leadership, public relations, law in hospitality, public speaking,
nonverbal communications, global culture, psychology and sociology. I have been able to utilize my
experiences and understanding of these fields to better acquaint myself with this ever changing
technical world.
As complex and eclectic as my background might seem I enjoy as much time as possible relaxing with
my family, scuba diving and reading. “Out of chaos, comes order”. - Nietzche
