Passionate Marketing Student Seeks New Opportunities
1. I have a passion for the marketing and advertising field, and a desire for further
growth and knowledge. My education at the University of Arkansas has prepared me
for working closely with clients, working on teams, and taking initiative. I have a
strong journalistic background and have written content that includes social media
posts, media releases, and creative briefs. I personally stay up to date with current
blogging, vlogging, consumer review sites and social media practices. I have
personally maintained my own multimedia blog, and am currently part of a
consumer review community. I am versatile in my abilities, and easily adaptable to
any situation given to me.
As an ambassador for the Division 1 Arkansas Razorbacks football team, I held a lot
of responsibility in communicating the core values of the football program and the
university to perspective players and their guests. In my time with the team I
learned how to carry myself professionally around new people every week and how
to change my methods to best appeal to whom I was speaking with.
As a student ambassador for the Center for Multicultural and Diversity education,
people of diverse backgrounds on a daily basis surrounded me. I learned about
teamwork, mentorship, and time management. I was often expected to complete
many tasks under a time constraint, while also maintaining a professional demeanor
with the guests that would frequent the center.
As a campus coordinator for Tapingo, I was expected to be a self-starter and to
manage myself because the company was located in another state. I had the
responsibility of creating brand awareness for the application by holding events,
talking to students, giving away promotional items, and maintaining a constant
presence on social media. I learned how to monitor my media engagements and how
to change my strategy to reach more people. I also learned to create weekly reports
on how I was performing and how awareness was growing.
I began my college career as a marketing major, but changed after my second year at
the university to Advertising and Public Relations. I wanted to be part of the
engagement side of marketing, and found my perfect fit as an Ad/Pr major. Despite
my switch, I graduated in four years.
