The island has long been an icon in New England, and many
famous politicians, entertainers, and business people have made
their homes here. Thomas Tate puts extra care into his work to
build quality homes and maintain the aesthetic and culture of the
island.
Martha’s Vineyard is located off the coast of Massachusetts, just
south of Cape Cod and west of the smaller island of Nantucket.
With a history of whaling and fishing, locally caught seafood
abounds in its fish markets and restaurants. The fishing town of
Menemsha is well-known for its freshly caught seafood, often
more affordably priced than what’s found in the larger community
of Edgartown.

 Both Larsen’s Fish Market and Menemsha Fish Market regularly
receive high reviews and are listed as local favorites. Yankee
Magazine rated Martha’s Vineyard Chowder Company in Oak
Bluffs as having the best clam chowder in New England.
The culinary scene is prominent on the island. The Martha’s
Vineyard Food and Wine Festival is a four-day event highlighting
the island’s wineries, breweries, and the best food that local chefs
have to offer. There are a number of pop-up dinners, small batch
experiences, and winemaker cellar series. Many of the featured
chefs run restaurants right on the island, but there are also guest
chefs who contribute their talents. Portions of the proceeds go to
the Agricultural Society’s Farmers Program and the Island Grown
Schools.
