• All animals must obtain food by eating
other organisms.
• Animals feed on plants and/or animals
• Plant eaters – herbivores
• Meat eaters – carnivores
• Plant & meat eaters – omnivores

• Sexual Reproduction: a new organism
develops from the joining of two sex cells – a
male sperm cell & a female egg cell.
• Fertilization: When the sperm and egg join.
New organisms will have characteristics from
both parents.
• Asexual Reproduction: when a single
organism produces a new organism identical
to itself.
Ex: A sea anemone sometimes split down the
middle producing two identical organisms.
