We want to hear what you think about the landscape and aesthetic concepts for SR-91 The Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) and their project partners are preparing to make improvements to State Route 91 from Corona to Riverside. Final design activities are now underway, with construction planned to start in early 2014 and new lanes expected to open in 2017. The City of Corona has a unique opportunity to provide input concerning the landscaping and aesthetic features of the project. The City of Corona has expressed a strong desire for the project to include consistent and appealing aesthetic features throughout the project length. To that end, RCTC is providing three alternative concepts for application in the corridor. These three concepts present themes and individual features in sufficient detail to solicit input from City officials and constituents. The TOD Study presented yesterday looked carefully at land use and transportation patterns, and then suggested the general contours for a reshaped downtown. Six potential development clusters were identified, including: the North Avenue Gateway (between Memorial Circle and I-95), the Central Corridor (between I-95 and the Metro-North tracks), Crossroads (the heart of the downtown, near the intersection of Huguenot and North), the West Gateway (where Huguenot and Main meet near Pintard), the East Gateway (around Echo Bay and Faneuil Park), and the I-95 Gateway (near the end of Palmer Avenue.)

The Government of Trinidad and Tobago in 2009 proposed to embark on a National Network of Highways Project (NNHP) that would see the construction of a number of cross country highways. Notwithstanding the obvious benefits of the NNHP, the immediate challenge faced by commuters and motorists throughout the country is the transportation crisis that exits in the major urban centers as a result of the inadequacy and lack of development of the transport infrastructure in these fast growing commercial centers. For the 54 trip pairs examined, most of which are among the region's principal destinations, the Quickway Proposal reduces transit travel times by nearly 2/3, making transit competitive with driving.
