1. What is an Inventory Organization?
Ans - An inventory organization is a logical or physical entity in the enterprise that's used to
store definitions of items or store and transact items.
2. What are functions of Inventory Management?
Ans - Inventory Management functionality lets you manage warehouse activities such as
replenishing inventory, counting stock (both cycle count and physical inventory), moving material
within the warehouse, and issuing goods to manufacturing and Picking ,Shipping ,Receipts and
Consigned inventory capabilities are supported as well.
3. List out Inventory Transactions?
Ans - Subinventory Transaction, Miscellaneous Transactions, Interorganization Transfers,
Movement Requests, Reservations and Picks, Confirm Pick Slips, Receipt, shipping, Cycle
counting & Physical counting.
4. Explain the Functionality of the Manage Item Quantity page?
Ans - the Manage Item Quantities page provides you with global visibility to items across your
enterprise as well as details within a particular facility. The page also provides a number of
actions that you can take after selecting a row from your search results. View item availability,
Request movement request transfer, Request movement request issue, Request miscellaneous
transaction, Request cycle count, Manage material status, Edit lot grade, Request transfer
order, View supplier lots, View Item Cross References Etc.
5. What is Available to Transact Qty?
Ans - Available to Transact equals the quantity already reserved and ready to transact.
Available to Transact = (Quantity on Hand) - Pending Transactions โ€“ Reservations
6. What is Available to Reserve Qty?
Ans - Available to Reserve equals the quantity on hand minus the quantity already reserved for
other orders.
7. What's the difference between primary quantity and secondary quantity?
Ans - Primary quantity is the quantity of items in the primary unit of measure.
Secondary quantity is the quantity of items in the secondary unit of measure.
8. Define Subinventory Transfers.
Ans - Subinventory transfer is use to transfer material within your current organization between
subinventories, or between two locators within the same subinventory.
9. What types of Availability displays on transaction screen?
Ans - Available- The quantity that's available to transfer based on the unit of measure you
specify
On Hand- The current on-hand quantity for the item, based on the unit of measure you specify.
Secondary Available Quantity - The quantity that's available to transfer in the secondary unit of
measure.
Secondary On-Hand Quantity-The current on-hand quantity of the item in the secondary unit of
measure. This value displays if the item is under dual unit of measure control.
10. How can I create a Subinventory transfer for consigned inventory transactions?
Ans - Enter a value for the owning party on the Create Subinventory Transfer page.
11. Define miscellaneous transaction.
Ans - Miscellaneous transaction is the transaction which is use to receipt or issue the material
without any documentation. Itโ€™s a logic transaction.
12. Uses of Miscellaneous Transactions.
Ans - miscellaneous transaction use to Load all on-hand items during Inventory Management
Implementation, Issue items to individuals, departments, or projects, Receive items that were
acquired without purchase orders, to Issue damaged items to expense accounts, such as scrap.
13. Define Interorganization transfers.
Ans - Interorganization transfers enable you to transfer material between inventory
organizations without creating any document. The items that you transfer must be assigned in
both the source and destination organizations.
14. What are types of interorganization transfers?
Ans - 1) Direct interorganization transfers- Direct interorganization transfers move items directly
between inventory organizations. The destination organization receives the material
immediately when you submit the transaction.
2) In-Transit interorganization transfers- Source organization sends stock to FOB (free on
board) point from that point destination organization receives the material.
15. Why can't I select a destination organization when creating an interorganization transfer?
Ans - Tocreate an interorganization transfer between internal organizations, you must first
complete this setup i) Manage Interorganization Parameters
ii) Manage Receiving Parameters
16. Define Movement requests.
Ans - Movement requests are requests for the movement of material within an inventory
organization such as a warehouse or facility with Pickslip document & Approvals.
17. How to perform Movement request?
Ans - Create Movement Request > Create Picks > Print Pick slip doc (send it to store keeper) >
physically move material > Confirm Pick Slip > Verify On hand Quantity
18. What are the types of Movement request?
Ans - i) Requisition movement requests (Manual created)
ii) Replenishment movement requests (Auto generated)
iii) Work order/Shop floor movement requests (Auto generated)
iv) Pickwave (Auto generated)
19. Can we cancel the remaining quantities of a partially picked movement request line?
Ans - Yes, to cancel remaining qty automatically enable/check the Close movement request
lines at pick confirmation at inventory organization parameter.
Or
You can also manually cancel the remaining quantity on a movement request by using the
Manage Movement Requests. Select Movement req line and from action cancel the movement
request.
20. What is Movement Request Issue and Movement request transfer?
Ans - Movement request transfer transaction type is use to subinventory transfer.
Movement request issue transaction type is use to issue stock against account.
21.While creating movement request, if we select transaction type as movement issue at
header level, is it possible to change at line level?
Ans- Yes, we can change it at line level.
22.If we select receipt routing method at item level is different from we selected in receiving
parameters, then which routing method system will take at the time of receiving?
Ans- Item level be the 1st preference
23. Is it possible to do miscellaneous transaction from Manage Item Quantity screen?
Ans- Yes, we can do that from Actions, we need to select request miscellaneous transaction
24. What are the setups for expense item?
Ans- 1-Should not be inventory item, 2- Stockable No, 3- Transactable No, 4-Costing No ,5-
Inventory asset-no
25. Is it possible to Edit COST while performing miscellaneous transaction?
Ans- Yes, We have to give use current cost as NO so that we can update COST
26. What setup should be done before Interorganization transfer?
Ans- Manage interorganization parameter
27. Types of Interorganization transfer?
Ans- Direct and Intrasit
28. Roles required to perform cycle count?
Ans- Warehouse manager for ABC Analysis & Warehouse operator for Cycle Counting
29. What is the mandatory steps to be followed at Warehouse level before starting the physical
counting?
Ans- Holding the inbound and outbound physical transaction manually by informing the
warehouse team, there is no freeze kind of option available in the system. Physical counting
normally does outside of the business hours.
30. What are the 2 basis on which cycle counting can be done?
Ans- 1. Based on Items & 2. Based on Item Categories
31. What is the reason if we are not able to assign locator at Subinventory level?
Ans- in Inventory organization parameter locator control is should be set as control at
Subinventory level then you can control it at Subinventory level.
32. Why can't I change the locator control of an existing organization at the Subinventory
level?
Ans- You can only change the Locator Control value when there is no on-hand quantity in the
Subinventory. First issue out the on hand and enable locator control and receive the on hand.
33. What's a transaction source?
A transaction source is the type of entity against which a transaction is charged. Examples of
transaction sources include purchase orders, sales orders, and inventory.
34. What is the difference between Inventory Item & Expense Item?
Ans- Expense Item: Inventory Item-> No, Costing -> No, Stocked -> No, Reservable -> No
& Inventory Item -> All -> Yes
35. What is Min-Max Planning Formula?
Ans- Total Availability = on hand + incoming Supply-Demand,
Order Qty = Max Qty- Total Availability
36. When the reorder suggestion get created?
Ans- When available qty go below min qty, and we run min-max programs with restock->yes
37. Min Max: If the source type -> Organization, what supply suggestion get created
Ans- Internal Requisition
38. For the same item, is it possible to do Min Max planning both Org, SI level?
Ans- No, either of them possible
39. What is meant by consigned Inventory?
Ans- Supplier is maintaining the stock in the customer premises, use & pay.
40. What is meant by consumption advice?
Ans- Providing the information to the supplier about our consumption
41. What is the Subinventory transfer & Movement Request?
Ans- 1) Subinventory Transfer: transfer material within your current organization between sub
inventories, or between two locators within the same sub inventory.
2) Movement Request: Request for the movement of material within an inventory organization
such as a warehouse or facility with proper documentation and approvals.
42. What are important item attributes?
Ans- i) Inventory item-yes/no, stocked, transaction enabled, reservable
ii) Lot Control, starting prefix, starting number, Lot expiration, Lot split or merge,
iii) Serial control- generation, prefix, starting number
iv)Cycle count, Shippable, Returnable, Invoiceable, Purchasing, and Customer ordered etc.

43. What is meant by Subinventory?
Ans- Subinventories are unique physical or logical separations of material inventory, such as
raw inventory, finished goods, or defective material. All material within an organization is held in
a subinventory.
44. What are Inventory Tables?
Ans- 1) INV_MATERIAL_TXNS, 2) INV_ONHAND_QUANTITIES_DETAIL, 3)
INV_SERIAL_NUMBERS, 4) INV_LOT_NUMBERS, 5) INV_RESERVATIONS
45. What are the Inventory Roles?
Ans- warehouse manager, warehouse operator, inventory manager, receiving agent, supply
chain operation manager
46. What is the difference between a duty and privilege?
Ans- Duty is collection of Privileges and Privilege is the action allowed to perform.
47. What is significance of LDAP PROGRAMS?
Ans- To sync Roles and Security information between LDAP directory and Fusion application.
48. What is the purpose of Reference Data Set?
Ans- Reference data sets are used to share common setups across the business units.
49. What is the difference between KFF & DFF?
Ans- KFF->Oracle provided > capture mandatory information ->itโ€™s a mandatory-> data stored in
segments
DFF-> User Defined > capture additional information ->optional -> data stored in attributes
50. What are the Lot related Item attributes?
Ans- Lot control, starting prefix, starting number, maturity days, hold days, Lot expiration, Lot
split, Lot merge, Lot translate, Default Lot status.
51. What is the difference between Abstract role & Job role?
Ans- 1) Abstract roles represent users in the enterprise independent of the jobs they perform 2)
Job roles represent the jobs that users perform in an organization
52. What is the role required to Manage ESS Jobs?
Ans- ESS Administrator
53. What is the difference between Physical Counting & Cycle Counting?
Ans- Physical Counting performed once or twice in a year, no item classification and no
scheduling.
Cycle Counting performed frequently by classifying the items, important items can be
scheduled to count on daily/weekly basis and least important items can be counted on quarterly
or yearly basis.
54. Cycle Counting Adjustment Approvals are available in Fusion?
Ans- No
55. What are the Replenishment Methods available in Fusion?
Ans- Min -Max planning, Supplier managed, Reorder Point Planning
56. In fusion does record history available?
Ans- Yes
57. Can you please elaborate FBDI Process?
Ans- Download Spreadsheet from Oracle Site - Public Url > Fill the data & Validate the Data >
Convert the spreadsheet into CSV and .Zip file > from File import and export -Save file in UCM
Server (.Zip) > Run 'Load Interface file for import' > Run Import Items/Import Supplier/Import
Sales Order (based on which object you are loading)
58. Backdated transactions allowed or not?
Ans- Mis Receipt, Issue Back date allowed but not future date
59. Is it possible to make an item both serial/lot control?
Ans- Yes
60. How are the attributes used by min-max planning calculations?
Ans- min max minimum quantity, min max maximum quantity, fixed lot multiple, minimum order
quantity, maximum order quantity, round reorder Quantity

Ans - An inventory organization is a logical or physical entity in the enterprise that's used to store definitions of items or store and transact items. 2. What are functions of Inventory Management? Ans - Inventory Management functionality lets you manage warehouse activities such as replenishing inventory, counting stock (both cycle count and physical inventory), moving material within the warehouse, and issuing goods to manufacturing and Picking ,Shipping ,Receipts and Consigned inventory capabilities are supported as well. 3. List out Inventory Transactions? Ans - Subinventory Transaction, Miscellaneous Transactions, Interorganization Transfers, Movement Requests, Reservations and Picks, Confirm Pick Slips, Receipt, shipping, Cycle counting & Physical counting. 4. Explain the Functionality of the Manage Item Quantity page? Ans - the Manage Item Quantities page provides you with global visibility to items across your enterprise as well as details within a particular facility. The page also provides a number of actions that you can take after selecting a row from your search results. View item availability, Request movement request transfer, Request movement request issue, Request miscellaneous transaction, Request cycle count, Manage material status, Edit lot grade, Request transfer order, View supplier lots, View Item Cross References Etc. 5. What is Available to Transact Qty? Ans - Available to Transact equals the quantity already reserved and ready to transact. Available to Transact = (Quantity on Hand) - Pending Transactions โ€“ Reservations 6. What is Available to Reserve Qty? Ans - Available to Reserve equals the quantity on hand minus the quantity already reserved for other orders. 7. What's the difference between primary quantity and secondary quantity? Ans - Primary quantity is the quantity of items in the primary unit of measure. Secondary quantity is the quantity of items in the secondary unit of measure.

Ans - Subinventory transfer is use to transfer material within your current organization between subinventories, or between two locators within the same subinventory. 9. What types of Availability displays on transaction screen? Ans - Available- The quantity that's available to transfer based on the unit of measure you specify On Hand- The current on-hand quantity for the item, based on the unit of measure you specify. Secondary Available Quantity - The quantity that's available to transfer in the secondary unit of measure. Secondary On-Hand Quantity-The current on-hand quantity of the item in the secondary unit of measure. This value displays if the item is under dual unit of measure control. 10. How can I create a Subinventory transfer for consigned inventory transactions? Ans - Enter a value for the owning party on the Create Subinventory Transfer page. 11. Define miscellaneous transaction. Ans - Miscellaneous transaction is the transaction which is use to receipt or issue the material without any documentation. Itโ€™s a logic transaction. 12. Uses of Miscellaneous Transactions. Ans - miscellaneous transaction use to Load all on-hand items during Inventory Management Implementation, Issue items to individuals, departments, or projects, Receive items that were acquired without purchase orders, to Issue damaged items to expense accounts, such as scrap. 13. Define Interorganization transfers. Ans - Interorganization transfers enable you to transfer material between inventory organizations without creating any document. The items that you transfer must be assigned in both the source and destination organizations. 14. What are types of interorganization transfers? Ans - 1) Direct interorganization transfers- Direct interorganization transfers move items directly between inventory organizations. The destination organization receives the material immediately when you submit the transaction.
  • 3. 2) In-Transit interorganization transfers- Source organization sends stock to FOB (free on board) point from that point destination organization receives the material. 15. Why can't I select a destination organization when creating an interorganization transfer? Ans - Tocreate an interorganization transfer between internal organizations, you must first complete this setup i) Manage Interorganization Parameters ii) Manage Receiving Parameters 16. Define Movement requests. Ans - Movement requests are requests for the movement of material within an inventory organization such as a warehouse or facility with Pickslip document & Approvals. 17. How to perform Movement request? Ans - Create Movement Request > Create Picks > Print Pick slip doc (send it to store keeper) > physically move material > Confirm Pick Slip > Verify On hand Quantity 18. What are the types of Movement request? Ans - i) Requisition movement requests (Manual created) ii) Replenishment movement requests (Auto generated) iii) Work order/Shop floor movement requests (Auto generated) iv) Pickwave (Auto generated) 19. Can we cancel the remaining quantities of a partially picked movement request line? Ans - Yes, to cancel remaining qty automatically enable/check the Close movement request lines at pick confirmation at inventory organization parameter. Or You can also manually cancel the remaining quantity on a movement request by using the Manage Movement Requests. Select Movement req line and from action cancel the movement request. 20. What is Movement Request Issue and Movement request transfer?

Movement request issue transaction type is use to issue stock against account. 21.While creating movement request, if we select transaction type as movement issue at header level, is it possible to change at line level? What is the reason if we are not able to assign locator at Subinventory level?
