Process management
As a graduated Software Engineer, my processes approach is technical/business administrative. From the start
of my career as an IT manager I have implemented, improved and managed business processes based on ITIL.
My knowledge about ITIL I have achieved through specific training and workshops, and substantiated and
completed through practical experience.
As a member of the Management Team of the Facility Department at Province of Limburg, I was committed
to increase the level of professionalism of the entire provision of services, including IT. I have e.g.
participated in composing an ITIL - based strategic model for developing business supporting services.
Furthermore I delivered the decisive factor in selecting, purchasing and implementing an ITIL - based Facility
service management computer system. I also accomplished Service Level Agreements. Partly as a result of my
initiatives, ISO 9001 certification for all supporting services was successfully achieved in a very short time.
As a Manager Documentary Information I have improved the quality of services as well as the Workflow of
primary processes through process analysis and process(re)design. I have supported digitizing primary
business processes as a member of several project teams.
Project management
My knowledge of project management has been established during my education as a Software Engineer.
During my entire career I have been involved in projects in many different roles. These projects have mostly
been IT-related. I have acted as a: member of a Project Board, project manager, project adviser, supplier,
member of a project team and as a customer. I have enhanced my knowledge of project management
through several Prince2 trainings, substantiated and completed through practical experience.
As a Senior Advisor at DJI (Ministry of Justice) I profiled as a project manager during the implementation of a
new POS system. As an IT Manager at PI Limburg-Zuid (correctional facility, Ministry of Justice) a was
responsible and accountable for the renewal of the IT infrastructure. As a Manager at Province of Limburg I
have acted in various roles in Priority Projects, being a significant part of a reorganization programme.
As a manager I have put large efforts in the project-based education of my employees.
Programme Management
At Province of Limburg my interest in Programme Management has grown. To enhance my personal
education I successfully attended a MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) certification training. My idea of
a Programme is based on the MSP framework.
Examples of programs I have participated in: Priority Projects at Provincie Limburg, the creation of regional
shared Service Centra at DJI (Ministry of Justice), the construction of a new finishing and shipment factory
hall for heating radiators at Stelrad.
After passing my MSP exam, I joined IPMA-nl (Dutch professional association for project- and programme
managers).
