 Quality is the level at which a
product, service or result
corresponds to the
requirements.
 The results of a project
should be as close to what
was asked as possible.
 However, it doesn’t mean
that you should not suggest
any improvements to the
requirements.

 Quality product, service or result
should always meet customer’s
and stakeholder’s expectations.
 It means that you need to help
elaborate the requirements.

No Defects
 There should be no defects
in the project’s results.
 Defect is a behavior.
 However, in practice, there is
no way you can ensure 100%
defect-free project. So, there
should be an explicit
agreement on what kind of
defects you should spend
time, money, and efforts in
the first place

 Quality had to come from the top, and it had to be
reinforced over and over again.
 Unless management views quality as its single.
 Staff have to be inform—and then think about how to
handle the first conflict between stated objective and a
pressing deadline

 Quality must be define.
 Standards must be set.

Invest in training
 Training takes on several dimensions. For starters,
employee initiation program that trains workers
should be set to focus on quality issues .
 Finally, train workers to see the connection between
their actions and, more broadly, their work ethic, and
the company's overall performance.

Tracking quality
 Tracking quality is admittedly more difficult in a service
business, but can be achieved by net promoter score:
 One way to gauge customer satisfaction (and, by
extension, the quality of your service) is by tracking what is
called a net promoter score.
 A customer who answers 9 or 10 is seen as a promoter.
 A customer who answers 7 or 8 is seen as passive.
 A customer who gives a company a score of 6 or lower is
seen as a detractor.
 By subtracting the number of detractors from the number of
promoters, a company arrives at its net promoter score
GQIP 5
Organize quality circles
 Quality circles are groups of employees who are
encouraged to assess processes and recommend
improvements, all with the goal of promoting quality,
efficiency, and productivity.
 Once you have invited workers to join a quality circle,
provide them with adequate resources to pursue their
analysis, and schedule a time in the future at which
they may present their findings. It is important that you
act on their recommendations, even if the group's
conclusion is not necessarily one you would have
drawn yourself.

  • 6. PROJECT QUALITY Requirements  Quality is the level at which a product, service or result corresponds to the requirements.  The results of a project should be as close to what was asked as possible.  However, it doesn’t mean that you should not suggest any improvements to the requirements.
  • 7. PROJECT QUALITY Customer Expectations Know :  what your customers want to achieve.  What benefits they wish to gain with your project.  Quality product, service or result should always meet customer’s and stakeholder’s expectations.  It means that you need to help elaborate the requirements.  You need to ensure that nail down the underlying expectations.
  • 8. PROJECT QUALITY No Defects  There should be no defects in the project’s results.  Defect is a behavior.  However, in practice, there is no way you can ensure 100% defect-free project. So, there should be an explicit agreement on what kind of defects you should spend time, money, and efforts in the first place
  • 9. GENERAL QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PLAN (GQIP) GENERAL QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PLAN  Make a commitment  Track mistakes  Invest in training.  Organize quality circles.  Have the right attitude
  • 10. GQIP 1 Make a commitment.  Quality had to come from the top, and it had to be reinforced over and over again.  Unless management views quality as its single.  Staff have to be inform—and then think about how to handle the first conflict between stated objective and a pressing deadline
  • 11. GQIP 2 Track mistakes  Quality must be define.  Standards must be set.
  • 12. GQIP 3 Invest in training  Training takes on several dimensions. For starters, employee initiation program that trains workers should be set to focus on quality issues .  Finally, train workers to see the connection between their actions and, more broadly, their work ethic, and the company's overall performance.

GQIP 4 Tracking quality  Tracking quality is admittedly more difficult in a service business, but can be achieved by net promoter score:  One way to gauge customer satisfaction (and, by extension, the quality of your service) is by tracking what is called a net promoter score.  A customer who answers 9 or 10 is seen as a promoter.  A customer who answers 7 or 8 is seen as passive.  A customer who gives a company a score of 6 or lower is seen as a detractor.  By subtracting the number of detractors from the number of promoters, a company arrives at its net promoter score
  • 14. GQIP 5 Organize quality circles  Quality circles are groups of employees who are encouraged to assess processes and recommend improvements, all with the goal of promoting quality, efficiency, and productivity.  Once you have invited workers to join a quality circle, provide them with adequate resources to pursue their analysis, and schedule a time in the future at which they may present their findings. It is important that you act on their recommendations, even if the group's conclusion is not necessarily one you would have drawn yourself.
