SEAI Education & Youth Programme and Objectives
SEAI’s Education & Youth Programme started in 1995
SEAI Education and Youth Programme aims to raise the
awareness among children and young people in Ireland
about sustainable energy as a key pillar of climate
action.
Currently, SEAI’s Education & Youth Programme offers a
range of curriculum linked energy and climate action resources
anda well-established national education outreach programme
that offers curriculum linked energy and climate action
workshops from Junior Infants to Transition Year.
These resources and workshops are highly regarded by the
teachers that use them.
9. SEAI Education & Youth Programme and Objectives
The aim of the SEAI Schools Programme workshops is to excite and inspire children
about energy, environment and climate change through inquiry-based science
education that is relevant in children’s everyday life .
SEAI’s Education & Youth Programme aims to become a leader in sustainable
energy and climate change education for young people reaching all levels of
education sectors from Early Years to Transition year and education through
Irish language.
For our programme to have the capacity to create a greater understanding of
sustainable energy and its importance to combatting climate change and to
encourage positive behavioural change across the youth population, we need to
substantially increase the reach and awareness of SEAI Schools Workshops
Programme by building on existing relationships and establishing new ones
