This webinar covered updates to the process for homeowners to apply for and receive grants for installing home electric vehicle chargers through the SEAI and Safe Electric program. The new online process replaces the previous paper-based one. Key aspects of the new process include: 1) Homeowners will receive an email with a link to an online payment request form they must submit. 2) Homeowners will forward a second email to their registered electrical contractor (REC). 3) The REC will receive an email with a link to an online electrician form they must submit, replacing the paper section they previously signed. 4) Safe Electric will still conduct the same checks on installations before SEAI issues grant payments
