2. NELSON MANDELA
Invictus is an inspirational movie based on a true story on Nelson Mandela and
his attempts to unify the people of South Africa.

racism and uniting his nation is faced with a lot of challenges.

3.
4. Democratic
Delegates authority to others, encourages participation, relies on
subordinates’ knowledge for completion of tasks, and depends on subordinate
respect for influence.
Task-oriented as well as People-oriented (High-High leadership)
5. The Springboks (South Africa’s Rugby team) was formed by the Afrikaners and is dominated
by the White players.
It is seen as a symbol of Apartheid and is therefore disliked by the black community. Mandela
tries to bridge the gap between the two groups of society by putting forward initiatives to
bring them together.
As a transformational leader, he uses the very same symbol, the ‘Springboks’ to his advantage
of uniting the country.
With the support of the entire nation, their team beats the ‘All Blacks’ in the finals.
Transformational leadership involves stirring the followers beyond their self-interest through
idealized influence, inspiration, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration
6. Jeff Bezos (founder of Amazon)
Leadership style- Autocratic, Task-oriented
Bezos used what he called a "regret-minimization framework”
During the 1990s and early 2000s at Amazon, he was characterized as trying to
quantify all aspects of running the company, often listing employees on
spreadsheets and basing executive decisions on data.
After the 2000s, to get forward he followed the mantra “Get Big Fast”.
Bezos uses the term "work–life harmony" instead of the more standard "work–
life balance" because he believes that balance implies that you can only have
one and not the other.
7. Bezos is known for creating an adversarial environment at Amazon, as well as insulting and
verbally abusing his employees.
Like “ I’m sorry, did I take my stupid pills today?”, “Are you lazy or just incompetent”.
