To Whom it May Concern:
This letter is my personal recommendation for Sukanya Goswami. She volunteered in
our laboratory over the summer of 2015. Her responsibilities included performing tests
on mice of different genotypes to check their cognitive abilities. She performed 2 day
radial-arm water maze, fear conditioning, visible and latency, open field and sensory
threshold assessment tests on them. She was also responsible for assembling and
analyzing data for the same.
Sukanya underwent rodent training at the university before beginning her tenure here.
Her skills at handling animals throughout the experiment was commendable. She
learnt the basic protocol for synthesizing Tau proteins (crucial for the on-going
research). She also assisted in developing the protocol for the elevated plus maze
test. She carried out the experiments independently and was able to adapt to the work
environment. For her first experience with animal research, she did an excellent job,
obtaining satisfactory results.
Through her keen interest, efficiency, flexibility, hard work and the will to learn,
Sukanya was an important asset to the laboratory team. Therefore, I highly
recommend her for any research team working in academia or in a corporation. I wish
her luck for all future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Ottavio Arancio, M.D., Ph.D.
