Aide in the setup of the lab for Microbiology experiments. Planting and
maintenance of various seed types in the greenhouse. Independent DNA
extraction. Overall maintenance of laboratory, lab setup and laboratory
supplies. Assistance in all experiments done by Dr. Abdullah-Israel.

My curriculum is not preparation for medical school, but for graduate
school. Moving further, I want to obtain my Doctorate of Philosophy degree
in Biological Research. With my research, I am striving to find cures, which
will change the world one breakthrough at a time.
P R O G R A M S P r e s i d e n t : Christian Student Fellowship, 2015- Current
Providing Norfolk State University students with a judgment-free zone, where
they can gain spiritual knowledge, upper-classmen mentors, and college-
life assistance.
V o l u n t e e r : Girl Scouts: Science-Alive, 2015
Engage and guide young Girl Scouts to increase curiosity about S.T.E.M.
majors. To increase the number of minority women in the S.T.E.M. fields.
M e m b e r : National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) 2014- Current
To increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel
academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the
community.
V o l u n t e e r : Norfolk ASPCA, 2013- Current
Increase awareness of proper owner behavior, pet resources, and provide
a safe haven for abused or sick animals in the Norfolk VA area.

C H A R A C T E R I S T
I C S
S k i l l s : Knowledge of Windows and basic computer programs. I am
trained in the NIH Laboratory Safety Standards. Knowledge of all basic
laboratory equipment. Ability to do a range of tests involving microbes,
including Kirby-Bauer and Turbidity. Ability to mold into the role of leader or
team member depending on the need of the group. I am a rational and
logical thinker, as well as a respectful and effective communicator. I strive
to ensure an optimal work environment.
C h a r a c t e r i s t i c s : I am very passionate about the field of science. I work
well with teams or individually. I am able to balance family and work. I
handle opposition or adversity very well because I am able to persevere. I
am easy going in my everyday attitude and I find relation in people of
every walk of life. I find science to be my key to fixing everything I see as a
problem. When I am in pursuit of my goal, I remain motivated. I see myself
as someone who is successful and determined to be the best.
