1. ANEMIA
Anemia is a blood disorder characterized by
abnormally low levels of healthy red blood cells
(RBCs) or reduced hemoglobin (Hgb), the iron-
bearing protein in red blood cells that delivers
oxygen to tissues throughout the body. Reduced
blood cell volume (hematocrit) is also considered
anemia.
What causes Anemia:
 Blood Loss,
 Decreased Iron Absorption,
 Disease condition,
 No proper Balanced Diet, etc..
Who Is at Risk?
 Pregnant women.
 People with poor diets.
 People who donate blood frequently.
 Infants and children, especially those
born prematurely.
Life Style Modifications:
 Eat a healthy diet which contain iron rich
foods.
 Talk to your doctor, if you think you have
any of the symptoms of anaemia listed in
this leaflet.
 Blood Tests should be monitored.
