4. Technical specification, manufacturing sample & approval
Compiling fabrication techniques based on the following details:
• Actual application
• bag dimensions
• Cage size and tolerance
• Cell plate size
Approve the bag sample
Confirm technical specifications
Completing technical sheet
Making bag sample
Bag sample approval:
• Fitting to cell plate
• Matching cage
• Keeping bag sample
(for future reference)
5. Bag and cage check
Bag to cage fit is a critical factor for filter bag life.
Calculation of bag size for cage diameter:
• Calculate flat width of bag:
Bag Flat width = (Cage Ø + 1mm) x 3.142 ) + 3mm
2
• Filter bag overall length (to fit cage):
Bag length ( Measure from the top of the bag to the 1st
sewing thread at the base = cage length
(Tolerance 0~+10mm)
• Bag reinforcement must be long enough to go
above the first ring by 10mm
• Calculate Middle reinforcement to cover the area
of cage joins
Visually check cage/bag fit – see photos
6. Slitting fiberglass cloth
Fiberglass should be cut by a sharp knife against a roller, this ensures a smooth edge
Note: membrane side should be wound to the inside of the roll.
Check - Correct width, smooth edges and no
damage to the PTFE membrane
8. Using the “B” profile for the cuffs
Fiberglass cloth cannot be folded into “B”
shape because it is too thin
We use:
5 to 5.5mm Ø fiberglass rope which is
covered by the cloth to form the “B” profile
Quality check - The “B” Profile should be
stuck tightly to the snap band. So that it
cannot move and there are no gaps.
9. Bag tube stitching
When using the automatic tubing line the vertical
seam is achieved by a forming tool and a triple
stitch seam.
Float threads are not allowed. The fabric edge
must be folded to the inside.
Quality Check – Check for any broken or floating stitches. Also Ensure the seam is straight
10. Bag tube stitching (Continued)
During stitching of the tube, sewing quality must
be carefully inspected
Visual inspect every bag for length measurement
and stitch quality. 1 in 5 bags recheck flat width
Quality check - Inspect sewing quality
and tube length.
11. Manually stitching bag tube (Continued)
We manually stitch bag tube for dairy industry ,
folded seam. Sewing staff has good skill to
manually stitch vertical seam.
To set up capability of manually stitching
fiberglass bag, we have technology and forming
tools to meet high quality requirement.
12. Sewing cuff and base
1.Bases - should be double needles stitched, twice
2.Cuffs – Should be attached to the bag so there
are no fabric ridges or reduction in tube diameter.
(It should be a smooth finish)
3.Reinforcements - turn over bag tube from the
bottom, stitch using a double needle seam
Quality check :
Sewing thread must be tight against snap band.
The cuff fabric must not be able to wrinkle
more than 3mm
Do not scuff or damage the membrane during
stitching
13. Quality inspection – Final
Final quality check :
• Bag length confirm
• Cell plate fit (1 : 20 Ratio)
• Flat width Check (1 : 5 Ratio)
• Visual checks – thread, cuffs, bases and
reo’s (aesthetics - does it look right)
14. Item Content Inspection method Specimen Inspection content
Tracking No.
Visual check 100% Stitching label and/or stamp serial number on the bag as client
requested. Stamp operator number on the bag.
Appearance
Material Visual check 100% Uniform the material for cuff, base and reinforcement, no
color difference. No damage or weaving defect on the bag.
Not allow more than 5 pieces of 5cm long membrane crack on
one bag.
Sewing thread All the thread according to order requirement.
Sewing quality Stitching cuff closely against snap band. No fabric ridges or
reduction in tube diameter, thread to cuff edge 2~4mm;
reinforcement height tolerance less than 5%. No wrinkle or
thick part with glass rope. No float or break thread;at least 2
lines available on vertical seam, not allow triple threads
wrong stitching folded seam. No more than 3mm wrinkle
with cuff or base. Loose thread length less than 8mm。
Dimensions
Bag length Drawing lines 100% From the top cuff to the 1st sewing thread at the base,
tolerance 0~+10mm, or according to client’s requirement.
B profile Steel ruler 2~3mm more than cell plate thickness.
Threads to edge Visual check 100% 2~4mm
Flat width Steel ruler 20% -0, +3mm
Fitting Cell plate 5% Fitting well, not allow easily move with force.
