In a hotel I am not “at home”.
I have less control over
my surroundings, and
my comforts have become
“travel-sized”.
The Hotel SmartRoom Experience.
A Concept.

Upon arriving in the room, the
guest is greeted by a large
touch-screen with an invitation
to sync nearby devices it
detects are present.

The SmartRoom screen displays guest data sources to connect with.
The guest selects the sources or apps and chooses to sync or cancel.

The SmartRoom system is able to make logical connections and make
useful suggestions to the guest based on guest history profile combined
with the opt-in data provided.

The SmartRoom Home Screen Concept
The SmartRoom system Home screen maintains a dashboard-like view
of guest personal agenda and content, hotel services, and room comfort
controls.

The SmartRoom Home Screen Concept
Guest personalized
data modules give
the users the ability
to interact with their
content, meanwhile
the system uses
the personal data
to make logical
connections to
the automated
environment and
services available. Frequently used hotel services
are always present and can be
configurable by the guest.
“What can I do for you” is one of the most important features
for guests who want to leverage their content, dynamic data,
hotel services, and room controls all with voice command.
All room controls are persistently available to the guest,
including climate control, lighting schemas, start a shower
or bath from anywhere in the room, open and close blinds
and set alarms.

Bypass Check-In + Keyless Entry
After booking a room,
past history data
and updated info
create a data-rich
guest profile.
System prompts
guest to OPT-IN
and share more
data, to maximize
the SmartRoom
technologies.
Just before the expected time of
check-in, the hotel sends the guest
a prompt to check-in, granting them
access to their room number and
digital key via mobile devices.
This can be done
anywhere at any
time, but the guest
may choose to ignore
this for now.

Check-out
Data Stored
Upon arriving in the room, the guest is
greeted by a large touch-screen with an
invitation to sync devices again, this is where
the magic happens. Guest gives access to
their calendar, media and contacts.
At check-out time, a
prompt (any device)
offers the guest the
option to request late
check-out or extend
the stay.
All data has been
stored throughout the
stay, adding to the
guest profile.

  • 2. In a hotel I am not “at home”. I have less control over my surroundings, and my comforts have become “travel-sized”.

  • 4. Stephen Schneider Setting up the SmartRoom Experience STEP 1 Upon arriving in the room, the guest is greeted by a large touch-screen with an invitation to sync nearby devices it detects are present.

  • 6. Stephen Schneider Setting up the SmartRoom Experience STEP 2 The SmartRoom screen displays guest data sources to connect with. The guest selects the sources or apps and chooses to sync or cancel.

Stephen Schneider The SmartRoom Home Screen Concept Guest personalized data modules give the users the ability to interact with their content, meanwhile the system uses the personal data to make logical connections to the automated environment and services available. Frequently used hotel services are always present and can be configurable by the guest. “What can I do for you” is one of the most important features for guests who want to leverage their content, dynamic data, hotel services, and room controls all with voice command. All room controls are persistently available to the guest, including climate control, lighting schemas, start a shower or bath from anywhere in the room, open and close blinds and set alarms.
  • 11. Stephen Schneider Hi-Level Flow Book Itinerary Bypass Check-In + Keyless Entry After booking a room, past history data and updated info create a data-rich guest profile. System prompts guest to OPT-IN and share more data, to maximize the SmartRoom technologies. Just before the expected time of check-in, the hotel sends the guest a prompt to check-in, granting them access to their room number and digital key via mobile devices. This can be done anywhere at any time, but the guest may choose to ignore this for now. Opt-In

Stephen Schneider The SmartRoom Experience Bypass Check-out Data Stored Upon arriving in the room, the guest is greeted by a large touch-screen with an invitation to sync devices again, this is where the magic happens. Guest gives access to their calendar, media and contacts. At check-out time, a prompt (any device) offers the guest the option to request late check-out or extend the stay.
