The University of Colorado Denver Business School SHRM student chapter received the 2014-2015 Outstanding Student Chapter Award from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The chapter officers, led by President Domenica Ortega, completed a comprehensive list of objectives to provide exceptional growth and development opportunities to student members. As recipients of this award, the chapter will receive a digital logo, recognition plague, and will be highlighted in SHRM publications and conferences. SHRM commended the chapter for being led by dedicated student volunteers and advisors who represent the future of the HR profession.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has awarded a 2014-2015 Outstanding
Student Chapter Award designation to the University of Colorado Denver Business School
SHRM student chapter for providing exceptional growth and development opportunities to its
student chapter members.
“We had a comprehensive list of objectives to complete from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015 to
effectively compete nationally – and we did so. Our officers did a wonderful job in leading this
effort – I am very pleased,” stated Virg Setzer, adjunct faculty member and advisor to the
chapter.
SHRM Chapter President, Domenica Ortega stated, “The dedicated and professional work by our
officers clearly reflects the HR, Management, and Leadership capabilities of our UC Denver
Business School programs, and I personally wish to recognize our Spring 2015 Officers for an

The Business School SHRM student chapter receives a digital logo for use in electronic or print
communications, a recognition plague, and will be recognized in SHRM’s publications and at its
national conference later this summer.
SHRM is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. Representing
more than 275,000 professional and 20,000 student members in over 160 countries, the
association serves the needs of HR professionals and advances the interests of the HR profession.
The Denver Business School chapter has been a Top 10 SHRM chapter and serves students by
providing (1) opportunities for networking with business professionals, faculty, and other
students; (2) opportunities for scholarship, internship, and employment; (3) opportunities for

HR and business management professions. The UCD SHRM Student Chapter is affiliated with
