PTPI strives to assist the largest number of chapters the budget will allow. PTPI offer two types of grants:
Chapter Grant up to $250.00 USD
Chapter Matching Grant– PTPI will match chapter funds, up to $1,000.00 USD.
Examples of programs that may receive chapter grants includes but are not limited to:
Cultural programs;
Humanitarian programs;
Local community/service events;
Global Youth Service Day projects;
Chapter fundraisers;
Exchanges through the International Visitors Program;
Assisting students who wish to participate in PTPI’s Global Youth Forum;
Chapter liability insurance.
Application Guidelines‐ Please read carefully before applying.
o Only applications from chapters in good standing (membership dues are current) that have been established for at least one year will be considered.
o Grants are awarded on a quarterly basis with application deadlines on March 15, June 15, September 15 and December 15. Applicants will be notified by the last day of each quarter.
o Grant applications must be complete (including a budget) and submitted on or prior to the application deadline date to PTPI Headquarters (please see address above).
o Requests must be for specific projects or events that promote the mission of PTPI.
o Chapter Matching Grant will not exceed one‐half of estimated costs and in no case will exceed $1,000.00 USD.
o Awarding of grants is not automatic and will be reviewed on a case‐by‐case basis. Funding is limited and determinations are based on budget, program content and need. Preference will be given to chapters that have not received a grant that calendar year.
o Chapter is not required to have matching funds to apply for a Chapter Grant up to $250.00 USD.
o Grant application should be for proposed funding for projects to be held in the next quarter (PTPI will not grant applications for projects which have already occurred).
o Chapter must verify the costs before PTPI will approve funding. Proposal must include a budget of the project or event. Paperwork submitted must have the signature of at least two chapter officers. Student Chapters must have the signatures of the chapter president and adult advisor.
o Upon completion of project, chapter will submit program recap, including photos that may appear in PTPI publications to promote the chapter grant program and/or promote local PTPI activities. Please note: this must be sent within 30 days of event. If the report is not submitted within 30 days of completion of the program, the chapter will no longer be eligible to receive grants in the program year and the chapter’s eligibility to receive grants may be affected in the future.
o Chapter is eligible to apply for and receive one grant from each category annually: a) Chapter Grant; b) Matching Grant.
January 2010 Peace through Understan
People to People International Chapter Grant Application
Chapter Name: ________________________________________________ Date: _________________
Type of Grant applying for:
_____ Chapter Grant up to $250.00 USD
_____ Chapter Matching Grant (PTPI will match chapter funds, up to $1,000.00 USD)
Please complete: If applying for a Chapter Matching Grant, the amount PTPI World Headquarters is asked to match (no more than one‐half, up to $1,000.00 USD) is $____________.
This Chapter received _____ grants from PTPI World Headquarters in the last calendar year.
