a. Definition
Picking up of unfit stimulus in a group of stimulus
usually four, is called as grouping or odd man out type
questions.
b. Criteria for constructing grouping type questions
b.1. One has to set a question on the expected ability
of the students.
b.2. All the stimulus should be look alike in physical /
meaningfulness / textual / conceptual except one
Example:
•1. Pick up odd man out (Identify) (Remember)

C. Continuous D. Evaluation
•2. Pick up odd man out (Compare) (Understand)
A. Formative Assessment B. Summative Assessment

c. Advantages
•Easy to construct
•Evaluation is easier than essay question and short answer
question
•Possess objectivity
•Machine based correction
•Bluffing is not possible
d. Limitations
•Abilities such as remember, and understand are only
measured.
Assignment
By seeing the example, now construct two odd man
out questions, one each in remember and understand in
your selected and fixed syllabus. Write also the SIO,GIO
as like in previous assignments.
