3. Technology has drastically changed the way we
live in the last 112 years, and even more so in the
last 25
• If we could go back in time -- even "just" twenty-five
years ago -- we'd see a world of difference in
comparison to the technology of today. Although cell
phones were in existence, the average person did not
own one, and those that were in use were quite bulky
and heavy.
• In addition, there were no plans with minutes as we have
today -- you were billed for every call you made, and you
were billed a lot.
4. Computers
• Computers were once
only used by
universities and the
military
• ENIAC built during
WWII was housed in
a room 30 by 50 feet
and weighed 30 tons
5. Growth of Personal Computers
• The first commercially
available home computers
were available in 1977 and
were very primitive by today’s
standards.
6. Windows and Mac OS
• Microsoft introduced an operating
environment named Windows on
November 20, 1985 as an add-on
to MS-DOS in response to the growing
interest in graphical user
interfaces (GUIs). Microsoft Windows
came to donminate the
world's Personal computer market
overtaking Mac OS, which had been
introduced in 1984.
7. Today computers are everywhere and we
truly live in the Information Age.
• As of June 2008, the number of personal computers in use worldwide hit
one billion, while another billion is expected to be reached by 2014. Mature
markets like the United States, Western Europe and Japan accounted for 58
percent of the worldwide installed PCs.
• Computers dominate all aspects of business.
• Personal use of computers in the U.S. include all areas of life from
education, entertainment, gaming, social media, music, art, writing,
communication, personal finance, banking, and a multitude of other
functions.
8. DIGITAL EXPLOSION!
• It’s not just computers, Cell Phones, Smart Phones, and iPads,
have changed the very way we interact with others and are
replacing desktop computers.
• Digital Cameras and video recorders have created the “YouTube
Phenomena”, where we no longer have to be anywhere to
experience something.
• Mp3 players and iPods have revolutionized how we experience
music.
Even if it has killed the music business……….
9. ……and created a generation of people who only listen to half of
a stereo recording.
I mean like who gets to decide which
channel they get to listen to??
You miss so much of the music this
way. As a musician myself it is a huge
pet peeve of mine.
Do yourself a favor and go buy one of

grown up with all this technology…
