In this powerpoint you will see some of my own photos and the artist that have inspired me , the photos that you see are my own , street photography isnt my stron gpoint but happy with how this turned out
2. Inspiration: Herman Rahman
I was inspired by this artist because of the way he uses lyrics to tell a story , I also really like
his work because of how he explores the trauma and suffering of people and the struggles
people can go through . He works with various clients ranging from musicians to fashion
designers, he likes to take pictures in different locations. This artist is doing a style of
photography that I would never been drawn to but I love how powerful his work can be and
the message he can get a crossed .
Herman Rahman is a photographer and artist based between Singapore and Hong Kong, In an
interview Herman said “There is a term to describe the cultural ache that Koreans go
through: Han. A complex intermingling of historical, collective and personal sorrow,
acceptance of a bitter present, and a hope of a better future.” which means he likes to take
pictures of which people can see the aches and suffering people go thought and he is
wanting people to try and understand what they go through, and how they might be feeling.
This is the website I got the quote of:
I really like Herman's photography because of how powerful the message is that he gets a
crossed when he takes the photo , and how powerful the words are in the boxes that he adds
to the photo, and all the meaning behind the photos.
3. I like this photo because
of the emotion on the
models face and the angle
of the camera.
I don’t like these photo
because you can't see
what they are off and
the way the camera is
angled.
These photo I like
because of the way the
camera is angled and the
composition that is used.
Don’t like these photo
because of the way the
camera is angled and how
close the camera is to the
model.
I really like these photo
because of the emotion
on the models face and
the composition that
has been used.
Really like this photo
because of the
composition that’s been
used.
4. The original photo
I decided to edit this photo because I wanted
it to be like the artist that I was inspired by, his
work is very historic and fighting for what you
have . So, I decided to do a picture of a mum
and daughter , which means the mum will
always fight for her daughter.
5.
6. This photo is final picture , I have decided to do more to the
photo by staining it with tea bags and coffee, which would give it
an old and warn out vibe , I have stuck the stained picture over
the original photo to make it look old and young at the same
time.
7. Artist that use that style: Arjun Kamath
Arjun uses a similar style to what Herman Rahman uses by telling a story through his
work his work is telling starts such as “ Coming out stories”. The pictures that you see
on the right are part of this series of how LGBTs are horrendously looked down on
and how sometimes in different county's people get treated bad because people don’t
except people for how they are. He conveys a very powerful message through his
beautiful pictures that he takes, through these pictures Arjun expresses his opinion of
how people are treated.
I really like this artist because of the message behind all this pictures and how
powerful his work comes a crossed when you see it and that it's something that a lot
of people can relate with or who have had his happen to them in their life.
8. Photographer/artist that inspires
meThe artist that inspires me is Matty Vogel , he is well known for his bright
colours that he uses in his shoots .He has worked with some music artist like
Billie Eilish the shoot that he did with billie is good because of the
composition that he has used and all the colours that he has incorporated
which they all add to the atmosphere and they represent the model in the
photo.
I really like this artist because of the bright colours that he uses and
composition that he uses and how he takes the photos from different angles
not just from the front of the model, I also like how all the colours add to the
Atmosphere of the photo.
Matty has went on tour with bands/ artist such as All-time low , PVRIS, and
Hoodie Allen to create the work that he has produced, he often focuses on
the dark and aesthetic and neon colour schemes.
20. Dougie Wallace -http://www.dougiewallace.com/
Dougie Wallace is a Scottish photographer who is internationally recognized for his long-term social documentary projects
and a distinct direct style of expressive street photography. He has won prestigious awards, exhibited as a solo artist or in
joint exhibits in world-renowned institutions and photographic festivals, authored several books.
I really like the work that Dougie produces because he is very confident in how he takes it and doesn’t really care what
people think about him or how he takes the pictures , the reason why I like his work is because he catches people of guard
so there expression on there faces are really and not what the artist has asked them to do. Dougie works really has inspired
me because he is confident in taking picture which is what I would like to be when I take my pictures and try not to care what
people think. The other reason why I like his work is because of the natural lighting that he uses in his work and all the
different compositions that he uses in his work. My favourite pictures that Dougie has taken is this one and this one
The reason why I like these two photos is because
of how colourful the clothing is that the models are
wearing and how it adds contrast to the photo
because the background is dark and then the
colour just makes it catch the eyes of the
audience. I also like these images because of the
expressions that they have on there faces, which
are very different to each other, and how he can
have 1 person in the frame – 7 people in the
frame to make it look more full or to make one
person the centre of attention.
21. Overview of Street Photography
Street photography isn’t the style of photography that I would normally go for because I can’t
really get into it and I can’t seem to find the perfect moment to capture in the streets , but as
I have learned over the week of doing this that you don’t have to wait to find the perfect
moment you can just take pictures which means you capture the best parts of people on the
street. The reason why I didn’t like street photography is because I didn’t have the
confidence to just take pictures of random people on the streets but as the week has gone
on I have found out that I do really enjoy street photography because my confidence has
gained and I don’t care about being judged when I have my camera out .
I have never done street photography before because I don’t really gravitate towards it but I
am pretty pound of how my work has turned out and what I have achieved here are some of
my Favourite images that I have taken during the street photography week:
