3rd Meeting of the Global Soil Laboratory Network (GLOSOLAN) Regional overview • 23 laboratories registered in GLOSOLAN from 12 countries • Countries not represented in GLOSOLAN at present: - Algeria - Egypt - Kuwait - Libya - Qatar - Saudi Arabia - United Arab Emirates National focal points and partners need to raise awareness on the network and get laboratories to register in it
3rd Meeting of the Global Soil Laboratory Network (GLOSOLAN) Regional overview • Attempts to establish the Regional Soil Laboratory Network for NENA were made in 2019 but it was ultimately decided to postpone it because of the little response of registered laboratories to GLOSOLAN initiatives Only 3 responsive/active laboratories from Iran, Iraq and Yemen • These laboratories were rewarded by making them participate in the GLOSOLAN PT 2019
3rd Meeting of the Global Soil Laboratory Network (GLOSOLAN) Way forward • National focal points were informed about the current situation – they will try to get their national laboratories to be more active • GLOSOLAN will make one more attempt to establish the Regional Soil Laboratory Network for NENA in 2020. • If registered laboratories will not become active (responsive to GLOSOLAN initiatives), ACTIVE LABORATORIES will be involved in the work of AFRILAB and SEALNET depending on their location. In this regard, the Regional Soil Laboratory Network for NENA will not be established.

  • 1. 3rd Meeting of the Global Soil Laboratory Network (GLOSOLAN) Mr. Karim Shahbazi GLOSOLAN Iran NENA Soil Laboratory Network
  • 2. 3rd Meeting of the Global Soil Laboratory Network (GLOSOLAN) Regional overview • 23 laboratories registered in GLOSOLAN from 12 countries • Countries not represented in GLOSOLAN at present: - Algeria - Egypt - Kuwait - Libya - Qatar - Saudi Arabia - United Arab Emirates National focal points and partners need to raise awareness on the network and get laboratories to register in it
  • 3. 3rd Meeting of the Global Soil Laboratory Network (GLOSOLAN) Regional overview • Attempts to establish the Regional Soil Laboratory Network for NENA were made in 2019 but it was ultimately decided to postpone it because of the little response of registered laboratories to GLOSOLAN initiatives Only 3 responsive/active laboratories from Iran, Iraq and Yemen • These laboratories were rewarded by making them participate in the GLOSOLAN PT 2019
  • 4. 3rd Meeting of the Global Soil Laboratory Network (GLOSOLAN) Way forward • National focal points were informed about the current situation – they will try to get their national laboratories to be more active • GLOSOLAN will make one more attempt to establish the Regional Soil Laboratory Network for NENA in 2020. • If registered laboratories will not become active (responsive to GLOSOLAN initiatives), ACTIVE LABORATORIES will be involved in the work of AFRILAB and SEALNET depending on their location. In this regard, the Regional Soil Laboratory Network for NENA will not be established.
