“SPIE allows us

Tell us about your career at SPIE.
BaptisteSergent: After graduating in HVAC Engineering, I joined SPIE Île-de-France Nord-Ouest
in 2012 as a Works Supervisor for office sites in the tertiary sector. I was promoted in January
2018, and I am now a Principal Project Engineer.
What does your job consist of?
B.S.: At the moment, I am working for a shopping centre in Paris on the smoke extraction,
air-treatment, heating and air-conditioning systems. On a day-to-day basis, I’m responsible
for setting up studies, selecting and approving subcontractors via tenders and I enable work to
start.SometimesIhavetochooseandorderthematerialthatweprovidetooursubcontractors.
And I monitor all the work, from receipt of the signed contract to delivery.
What do you appreciate most about your work?
B.S.: SPIE allows us to fulfil our ambitions. I find it very satisfying to deliver a completely
renovated building on schedule and to know that it is functioning with the latest technology.
