2. # This phenomena was first observed by
Robert Hooke in 1664 and describe it in his
book named MICROGRAPHIA.
# Later, it was mathematically explained by
Sir Isaac Newton in 1704. So it is called
Newton’s Ring.

3. Newton rings are the interference fringes,
formed by either reflection or
transmission of light waves from spherical
surface in the form of concentric rings.

1. Constructive Fringes or Bright Rings
2. Destructive Fringes or Dark Rings
