2. WHAT IS RESOURCE
Anything which can be used for satisfying the human
needs is called a resource.
Resorces
Natural
Remewable
Non
renewable
Manmade
WATER RESORCES
BIOTIQUE RESOURCES
LAND RESOURCES
3. RESOURCE CONSERVATION
We need to conserve conserve rescorce-
1.prevent them from getting exhausted.
2. To save for the future generations.
3. To get continuous supply and for a long
time
4. LAND RESOURCES
Land resources are every benefits that we
can avail from land such as-
Agricultural land
The underground water
Mines
Forests
5. LAND-USE
There are different
type of land use such
as:
Commercial land use
Residential land use
Industrial land use
Institutional land use
Transportation land
use
6. LAND USE PROBLEMS
LAND DEGRADATION: Every year
5 to 7 million hectares of land
worldwide is added to the
degraded farmland. Over
irrigation, over use of chemical
fertilsers making the lands
unproductive.
SOIL EROSION: Deforestation is
increasing day by day and this is
leading to soil erosion
throughout the world.
7. LAND CONSERVATION
Land conservation is the process of
protecting land to its natural state. As
humans develop and harm ecosystem, a
variety of techniques are needed to try to
save the environment and protect the
remaining lands.
8. MODERN TECHNIQUES OF LAND
CONSERVATION
Land use policy.
Strict actions are taken to check the reckless
felling of trees and overgrazing
By educating and informing all the land
holders by various aspects of land resource
Contour ploughing is another method to
conserve. By this method the fields are
ploughed, and sown along the contors of
hills.
Under the afforestation and deforestation
programme, planting of trees bushes and
grass helps to check the soil erosion.
Shelter belts are planted on the margins of
desert areas.
Construction of dams.
9. WATER RESOURCE
Water resources are the sources of water
that are potentially useful for agricultural,
industrial, household and environmental
activities.
10. WATER CONSERVATION
Water conservation is the practice
of using water efficiently to
reduce unnecessary water
usages.
WHY WATER CONSERVATION IS
IMPORTANT?
Over one billion people do not
have enough safe clean water to
drink.
It is very expensive to develop
new water sources.
Water protects our ecosystem
and wildlife.
11. MANAGEMENT FOR WATER
CONSERVATION
India is expected to enter the water
stress category by 2025. so
government have taken few
measures to limit the water uses:
Proper domestic use
Efficient agricultural use
Desalination of marine water
Forest conservation
Recycling of industrial water
Harvesting rainwater
Proper irrigation method in
agriculture
12. BIOTIC RESOURCES
Biotic resources are resources
derived from the biosphere such as
living things and from forest and the
materials derived from them.
14. CONSERVATION OF BIOTIC
RESOURCE
As the human population is increasing
day by day the consumption of natural
resources are also increasing. If these
resources are not properly used there
will be a serious scarcity of this
resources.
15. CONSERVATION MEASURES
Species conservation:
Species are conserved
within their own areas in IN-
SITU conservation. Ex-
protected areas, Biosphere
Reservation.
Endangered species are
artificially reserved in ex situ
conservation. Ex- Botanical
garden, Gene bank etc.
16. There are several acts which has
been passed to conserve the
species and their habitats. Ex-
Wildlife protection act,1972; Forest
conservation act,1980.
Proper management and
maintenance of the habitat factors
Educating people about the
importance of biodiversity
conservation increases public
awareness of the issue
Formulation of policies to
regulations to curb poaching.
17. CONCLUSION
The globe without natural
resources will be as the globe
without nature .The resources not
only add our lives they serve the
realm of progress.
