3. What is a Project?
As the pace of change (technology, business, social, regulatory etc.,) accelerates, and the penalties
of failing to adapt to change become more evident, the focus of management attention is
inevitably moving to achieve a balance between business as usual (BAU) and business change.
Definition: Project
A project is a temporary organization that is created for the purpose of delivering one or
more business products according to an agreed Business Case.

Projects are the means by which we introduce Change.
Projects are Temporary in nature. They should have defined start and a defined end date.
Projects involve a team of Cross-Functional people with different skills working together.
Some or the other way, every project is different and hence Unique.
Projects are more risky and will introduce Uncertainty in the form of threats and
opportunities.
