Achievements
2011- My second year of study at college was fully practical where I was with Micro
projects office in Mbabane for a period of 9 months. Our examination for the year was
presenting the whole of your experience in front of a panel of judges made up of
senior lectures. I was the best performer among the class with 88% scored as they
said my presentation was rich in content and very well organised.
2005- O’Level top pupil at Salem high school class of 2004 with aggregate 18 scored
from 6 subjects.
2003-Top pupil for the class of 2003 that sat for junior certificate at Salem high school
with a pass of first class with merit.
Work Experience
October 2017-May 2018(KUKHANYA CIVIL ENGINEERING CONTRACTORS)
In-training quantity surveyor (civil engineering works)
Introduction: My main role was created by the then project manager Jan Johan
Rotes where I was working closely with him and the then General foreman making
independent records of site diary for the quantity surveying office. Each day I visited
every point of activity and recorded important site information such as; operation
undertaken, personnel on site, tools on site, machinery on site, physical work
measurement at end of day to name but a few. This information we used to do costing
of every operation using current rates of labour, wet rates of machinery and work
measurement to see if there was production on site or we working under loss.
2. ● Processing payment claims to the resident engineer by reconciling the bill of
quantities with work done and complete to the satisfaction of the Senior Clerk
of works.
● Making back-ups for claims using measurements sheets and taking-off
quantities from relevant drawings then submitting to the clerk of works to
substantiate our claims.
● Helping site foreman in accurate recording of site daily diaries in order to
represent fully what was done on site using quantity surveying terminology and
careful work measurement.
● Recording minutes in daily progress report meetings held on the site office
every afternoon.
● Identifying variations arising from work done which was not included in the bill
of quantities but ordered by the clerk of works as necessary.
● Updating the QS office with information from quality assurance for work that
has successfully passed laboratory tests making it quick to forward a claim on
work successfully completed.
● I have considerable experience in the execution of layer works i.e.; pioneer
layer, selected subgrade, processing sub base, processing G1 and paving the
premix both in construction detail and quantity surveying within the work.
● I also have relevant information on rates and time performance of the following
machinery; Recycler, milling machine, paver, pad foot roller, smooth roller,
grader, excavator, low bed truck, tipper truck, dumper truck, etc.
Reason for leaving: Construction contract cancelled by the Ministry of Economic
Planning due to contractual obligations not met by the contractor.
