• Payment Gateway (PG) is a software that authorises to conduct an online
transaction through different payment modes like net banking, credit card,
debit card etc.
• PG plays the role of a third party that securely transfers money from the bank
account to the merchant’s payment portal.
• To explain this in simpler terms, at the time of buying a book from a popular
digital platform like Flipkart, when we make the payment for the book, a
payment gateway helps us in the process by transferring money form bank
account to Flipkart.
• For providing Payment Gateway for a customer’s website we have tie-ups
with Billdesk,Payu India and SabPaisa (BOI Quick Collect)

– Block Chain
– API (Application Programming Interfaces)
– AI (Artificial Intelligence)
– ETC (Electronic Toll Collection)
– ATM (Automated Teller Machine) & E-Gallery
Objective
Block-Chain
Blockchain is a public electronic ledger - similar to a relational database - that can be openly shared
among disparate users and that creates an unchangeable record of their transactions, each one time-
stamped and linked to the previous one. Each digital record or transaction in the thread is called a
block (hence the name), and it allows either an open or controlled set of users to participate in the
electronic ledger.
Example:::: Few Banks, are set to share corporate KYCs
and more through BankChain - a blockchain consortium set
up by financial technology firm Primechain Technologies.
Advantages...
Block chain technology is not controlled by any single entity and has no single point of failure. It is transparent and
incorruptible.... It is kind of self-auditing ecosystem of digital value and block chain network automatically checks every
transaction that happens in it.
Other Applications...
The most popular application of technology so far has been Cryptocurrency, but it is not limited to financial transactions
and can be also used in smart contracts, supply chain management logistics, sharing economy, crowd funding, governance,
file storage and date management and Internet of Things (IoT)....
APIs
Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) is relatively an old technical
composition, which has been around for a long time. It is a structured and predetermined
mechanism where two systems can exchange data with each other.
Essentially APIs were internally focused and were exposed externally only in a very private manner
or only to pre-identified partners.
The introduction of API in the banking service
would give both customers and businesses the
freedom to access all bank data in real-time,
and basically providing them with more
accurate and up to date information on their
finances.
Open APIs is a combination of API technology and contemporary thinking about open collaboration. It
refers to new dialogues, connections, and ways of working between participants in emerging business
ecosystems.
AI (Artificial Intelligence)
Digital solution providers state that one robot can work 24/7 and replace up to eight employees,
without asking for days off or a raise. This is the major reason why Big Global Banks are
increasingly turning toward Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to stay competitive in the
digital era.
The most relevant application areas of Artificial Intelligence
Personalized Financial Services
Smart Wallets
Underwriting
Voice Assisted Banking
Data-driven AI applications for lending decisions
Customer Support
New Management Decision-making
Reducing Fraud and Fighting Crime
Electronic Toll Collection (ETC)
NHAI has rolled out program for Electronic Toll Collection on Toll Plazas on National
Highways called FASTag. Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) (a
company incorporated by National Highways Authority of India) and National Payment
Corporation of India (NPCI) are implementing this program with help from Toll Plaza
Concessionaires, FASTag Issuer Agencies and Toll Transaction Acquirer (select banks).
FASTag is a device that employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for
making toll payments directly from the prepaid account linked to it. It is affixed on the
windscreen of your vehicle and enables you to drive through toll plazas. FASTag has a
validity of 5 years and after purchasing it, you only need to recharge/ top up the FASTag
as per your requirement.
Benefits of using FASTag:
Environmental
Social benefit
Economic benefit
Reduced air pollution
Reduced use of paper
Reduced toll payment hassles
Analytics for better Highway management
monitoring centrally
Reduced
Effort in Management
ATM & E-Gallery

Editor's Notes

  1. Team ITTC, Pune, Welcome you and Wish you all the Best for your Promotion, Session –I  ADC & ITeS Products,
  2. In this session we will discuss about a wonderful and innovative product of Bank of India, that is IMT or Instant Money Transfer
  3. Basically it is a facility for cardless cash withdrawal from ATMs. It’s a domestic self service facility which imply that it does not work outside India. IMT can be sent by our Bank’s customer either through our Retail Internet Banking or our Bank’s IMT enabled ATM. That means to send money through IMT ,the sender should have either Internet Banking facility or he should possess ATM debit card. For the beneficiary receiving the money, only requirement is a feature phone. He need not have any bank account or ATM card or smart phone. For safety reason, withdrawal details are partially communicated to the beneficiary on his mobile and partially by the sender.
  4. Talking about the limits and charges of IMT the Sender Limit is Min Rs.100 and Max Rs.10,000 per transaction in multiples of Rs.100 Looking at the Anti money laundering aspect , the Receiver Limit is set to be Max Rs.25,000.00 per month. It means that on one single beneficiary phone number ,one can receive maximum 25000 rs per month The sender will be charged IMT fee of Rs.25 for every transaction. For the staff charges are Rs.10 Validity of IMT transaction is only 14 days. If the amount is not withdrawn by the beneficiary within 14 days, the money will automatically be transferred in the sender’s account
  5. There are three steps in the IMT process Number one, Beneficiary Registration. Like RTGS and NEFT we have to first register the beneficiary. It can be done either through Internet Banking or through SMS The Beneficiary gets activated instantly Second step is to Initiate IMT. Again it can be initiated either through Internet Banking (By login in to IB) or through ATM (Using Debit card and IMT enabled ATM). At the time of initiation of IMT, the sender has to create one code which is called the sender code and has to convey the same to the beneficiary via sms or calling. The third step is to withdraw IMT by the beneficiary. This is to be performed at any IMT enabled ATMs of BOI and other tie up banks. IMT can anytime be cancelled, before the withdrawal by the beneficiary. It can be cancelled through IB or ATM.
  6. Beneficiary Registration- Customers can send an SMS to +919223009988 from their registered mobile number with following details IMT <Beneficiary Mobile Number>#< Beneficiary name>#<Beneficiary Address>#< Beneficiary Add. Pin Code> As we already know that beneficiary can be registered Through IB or SMS. To register through SMS Sender has to send a SMS to the number 9223009988 from his registered mobile in the following syntax IMT space Beneficiary ten digit Mobile No hash Beneficiary first Name hash Beneficiary city name hash beneficiary city pin code. Immediately sender will get a message regarding successful registration of the beneficiary
  7. As already discussed, IMT can be withdrawn by the beneficiary from any IMT enabled ATMs of BOI,PNB,Axis,Kotak or Laxmi Vilas Bank. For the withdrawal of IMT the beneficiary needs following details. Self Mobile number, Sender code which has been conveyed by the sender, SMS pin received via sms from DC and the IMT amount. The full amount of IMT should be withdrawn at one go, part withdrawal is not supported by IMT.
