Growth mindset allows me to constantly improve and take on new challenges. I have a desire to learn and better myself in all roles from being a student to friend to daughter. I reflect on feedback to overcome weaknesses and grow exponentially. Challenges are opportunities to learn rather than judgments of my abilities. Adopting this mindset helped me perform piano in front of 150 people, despite doubts. I practiced for hours to prepare and the performance went flawlessly. Growth mindset makes me more passionate, determined, and persistent in improving myself and helping others.
1. Persistance is a common trait
that a lot of us have, but to me
its uniques because of the
growth mindset i have. The
growth mindet has built me into
persistant and also caused my
love for learning new things .
It makes me want to face new

I have always questioned myself “Am I doing enough
or can I still do better?” and the answer is always
“Yes, I can”. I work hard to be better at being a
student/friend/daughter, be it any role, I act
responsibly. Everyday, I am looking to improve and
be the person who I desire to be. I think it is unique
to have a growth mindset as it is the gear for my
constant motivation to be better tomorrow. Self-
consciousness and self-reflection are important
aspects of feedback, and I use it liberally to
overcome my weaknesses and flaws, to grow
exponentially.
Growth mindset
2. asily and thatI desire to improve everyday no
because I should but because I wan
to. I believe I can exceed m
expectations if I work hard, use th
right strategies, and develop the bes
of my abilities. Everything evolves an
that’s why I feel need to constantl
change my attitudes and outlook o
life. I don’t want to settle for th
person I am today and instead, I aim t
become something more than I think
can be.
3. It has helped me realize the direction I want to go in and that is architecture. From developing designs to
executing them it is all about improvement in every stage. Growth mindset aids me to be focused and
determined to work towards my goals and desires.
Which is why challenging myself has been important. Setbacks and feedback weren’t about my abilities,
they were information I could use to help myself learn. This quality has benefited in so many aspects. The
urge to deepen my knowledge in art and widen my skills and imagination led me to work in and explore
multiple mediums.
4. One of the instances in which this trait helped was
when I had to perform in front of a huge crowd of
about 150students and parents, on my seniors’
graduation ceremony. I was requested to play piano
for a duration of 40 minutes, it was a big opportunity
for me but extremely daunting for someone who was
self-taught. It was gratifying that they considered me
capable enough to do it however, I was doubtful if I
could follow through with it. A really hollow feeling set
in, leaving me in a nervous and anxious state .
5. Performing has never been my strong point but
because of my growth mindset I have never let an
opportunity go when it came to working on my stage
presence. I decided that if I didn’t think I was good
enough to perform, then I should work to be the person
who is. I sat for hours everyday for a whole week and
practiced over and over again. On the final day though,
it was nerve racking, the performance went flawlessly
and I was asked to play again for the next outgoing
batch. This trait has helped me be more passionate,
determined and persistent. I believe I can help the IEU
community by constantly working on improving and
learning new things.
