Two angles are complementary if their measures sum to 90 degrees, like 45 + 45. Two angles are supplementary if their measures sum to 180 degrees, like 90 + 90. A linear pair are two adjacent angles whose non-common sides form opposite rays, and adjacent angles share a common vertex and arm but no interior points. A transversal is a line that intersects two or more other lines at distinct points. A median connects the midpoint of a side of a triangle to the opposite vertex. An altitude of a triangle has one endpoint at a vertex and the other on the opposite side.
