People abandoned their homes and properties
and fled away to safe places to protect
themselves from military.
Rajakars used to help the military to find people and kill
them. They used to do petrol at night and used burn people’s
home to the ground. They used to take their family members
and kill them.
Men and women sacrificed their honor to
protect the nation.
In the streets, the military used to search men and young
boys for weapon. They used tell them to strip down their
clothes and show them whether they were Muslims or not.
Women enlisted their name in the
freedom fighters.
They Sacrificed their honor when they were raped.
today’s independent Bangladesh is standing on the green
grass which was once red with martyrs blood.

Operation
Searchlight
It was a planned military
killing carried out by the Pakistan Army
to
suppress the Bengali nationalist
movement
in East Pakistan during the liberation war
of
1971. The original plan was to take
control of the major cities on March 26.
The first phase was the war of resistance, which began
just after the Operation Searchlight was unleashed (25
March, 1971). The moment the marauding Pakistani
forces waged the unprovoked crackdown on the
sleeping people at dead of night, some of our patriotic
armed forces started fighting back almost
instantaneously.
Mujib was arrested at night & was taken to West
Pakistan.
‘’This may be my last message, from today Bangladesh is independent. I call
upon the people of Bangladesh wherever you might be and with whatever you
have, to resist the army of occupation to the last. Your fight must go on until
the last soldier of the Pakistan occupation army is expelled from the soil of
Bangladesh and final victory is achieved.’’
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh MUJIB TAKEN PRISONER 26TH MARCH 1971
In a result of the brutal attack of the history of
civilization at least 10,000 civil people including
women and children were killed in the night.
Pakistan occupation army used tanks and artillery
against the follower of Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman. They went on a rampage in
Dhaka University area and killed the intellectuals,
teachers and students mercilessly. They not only
killed the general people but also tortured, looted
and raped a lot that night.
