SHAWN SETTLES APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF
ADMINISTATION AT OHCQ
The Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ) is very pleased to announce
the appointment of Shawn A. Settles as the Director of Administration.
Prior to this role, he was Program Manager for OHCQ’s Assisted Living
and Adult Medical Day Care Unit. Mr. Settles has a bachelor’s degree in
health, science and policy from the University of Maryland Baltimore
County, and a master’s degree in business from the University of
Baltimore.
Prior to joining OHCQ, Shawn was the program manager responsible for
a Department of Defense Contract, offering medical services and care
coordination to soldiers and family members affected by Traumatic Brain
Injury. Prior to that role, he owned several closed-door pharmacies in the
state of Maryland, which provided services to the assisted living and non-
medical adult day care communities. Additionally, while working for two
different membership associations, he has overseen education and training
for medical technologists and health regulatory affairs for industry
personnel in pharmaceuticals, biologics and medical devices. He began his
career as a patient advocate for dialysis and pre-transplant patients with a
medical charity.
Mr. Settles is recognized as a management professional, known for
crafting the requisite strategic vision to achieve goals. He offers a creative
and unique blend of executive acumen, team–building, program
management, and IT solutions development, credited with documented
results and operational improvement. Shawn’s role as Director of
Administration is effective immediately.
