Li-Fi is a visible light communication system that provides wireless data using LED light bulbs. It offers several advantages over traditional Wi-Fi including larger bandwidth, higher efficiency, more availability, higher security, and being non-hazardous. Li-Fi works by modulating the intensity of LED light bulbs to transmit data and can achieve transmission speeds 10,000 times faster than traditional radio frequency Wi-Fi. It has applications in environments where RF connectivity is restricted as well as in underwater communications, aviation, hospitals, mobile connectivity, and smart lighting.
