Today wasthe firstday of juniorhighatmy new school.Iwas so nervousbefore goingtoschool thatmy

The thoughtof goingto a newschool,makingnew friendshavingafreshstartwouldseemexhilarating
for people,butIcouldneverrelate tothat.Meetingnew peoplehasalwaysbeenoverwhelmingtome,
and that clearlyexplainswhyittookalmostone yearforme to make friendsatmy lastschool.Well,I
was hopingthingswouldbe differentthistime,butunfortunately,the firstdaywasa bummer.
Today wasn'tthe firsttime I visitedthe school,butsomehowthe school seemedhumongoustoday,
maybe itwas the anxiousnesskickingin.Well,luckilythe seniorstudentsshowedusaround.the one in
charge of our batch wasAshelywhoseemedquite intimidatingandaloof,wellguessIamgoingto keep
my distance fromherforthe restof the year.Eventhoughher characterwas daunting,she didherduty
quite well.AlthoughIwonderwhyshe didn'tshow usthe extracurricularclubroom.
Teachersall seemedfriendlyandapproachable,especiallythe p.e teacherwhoaskedme tocome for
basketball tryoutsnextweek,Ialreadyknow she isgoingtobe myfavourite teacherinthisschool.Iwas
hopingthatI wouldmake friendsonthe firstdayof school but,as alwaysthanksto myintroverted
personalityIdidn'tmake anyfriends.It'snotlike Ididn'tgetany opportunitytomake friends,infact,we
had a whole orientationforthe newstudentswithabunchof activitiesforthe studentstogetclose to
each other.butsomehowIcouldn'tgetmyself toapproachothers.
Eventhoughthe newstudentsgota tour of the school,the numberof timesIwentastray todayis

out the school isn'tas bigas I thoughtitwas.
Insteadof showingthemsportsclubrooms,I focusedthe school guide onthe educationalclasses,since
theywill notbe attendinganysportsclubsforthe nexttwoyears.I now rememberedwhyAshelydidn't
showus those extracurricularrooms.It'sbeentwoyearssince I've beenhere andI'mstill notfamiliar
withthat room.I toldthemthe dininghall wasthe students'favorite hangoutspotwhentheywere
shockedtosee howlarge the school'sdininghall was. Iwassurprisedathow muchthe dininghall had
changedinjusttwo yearsbecause onthe firstday of myjunioryearthe dininghall barelycaughtmy
attention.
As I watchedthe juniorsinteractingandminglingonthe firstdayof school,I realizedhow muchIhave
grownsince the firstday of my juniorhigh,NotonlydidImature chronologically,butIalsomatured
mentally.
ThenI realizedIshouldstartpreparingtosay goodbye tomy highschool yearsas itwas comingto an
