the signs of operations
(addition,subtraction,multiplication,division) is called an
algebrare expressions.
Ex :- 2X³-2Y⁴+5Y
4. TYPES OF EXPRESSIONS
MONOMIALS
THE EXPRESSION WHICH CONTAINS ONLY ONE TERM IS CALLED
MONOMIAL.
Ex :- 6xy³
BINOMIALS
THE EXPRESSIONS THAT CONTAINS TWO UNLIKE TERMS IS CALLED
BINOMIAL.
Ex :- 4Xy+ 6xy
TRINOMIALS
THE EXPRESSION CONTAINING THREE UNLIKE TERMS IS CALLED
5. ETERNAL EQUATIONS
Equations that hold true for all the
prices of a variable are called
perpetual equations.
Ex :- ( a + b )² = a² + b² +

6. STANDARD EQUATIONS
1. ( a + b )² = a² + 2ab + b²
2. ( a – b )² = a² - 2ab + b²
3. a² - b² = ( a + b ) ( a – b )
7. ( A + B )² = A² + 2AB + B²
Ex : Solve ( 2x + 3y )² .
ANS : ( a + b )² = a² + 2ab + b²
a = 2x b = 3y
( 2x + 3y )² = (2x)² + 2(2x)(3y) + (3y)²
( 2x + 3y )² = 4x² + 12xy + 9y²
8. ( A – B )² = A² - 2AB + B²
Ex : Solve ( 5p - 4q )² .
ANS : ( a – b )² = a² - 2ab + b²
a = 5p b = 4q
( 5p – 4q )² = (5p)² - 2(5p)(4q) +
(4q)²
( 5p – 4q )² = 25p² - 40pq + 16q²

Ex : Solve ( 2x + 3y ) ( 2x – 3y )
ANS : ( a + b ) ( a – b ) = a² - b²
