RE: Recommendation of Shane Bruce
I have known Shane for approximately four years. During this time I have been his
academic advisor, and instructor of several of classes that he has been in and his labor
supervisor.
As an instructor, I can say that Shane is an excellent student. He performed all
assignments in a very competent manner. He attended all classes, except when excused
during extracurricular activities.
As his advisor for two years, I have found overall, that he is an excellent student in all his
classes and had no difficulty with the course load.
He has worked in the Industrial Arts Department with me as his direct supervisor for
approximately two years as a participant in the Berea College Labor Program. He has
advanced from entry level to student supervisor of the Technology and Industrial Arts
Computer Laboratory. As supervisor, he is directly in charge of the staff and Lab
workers. He is also responsible fore conducting scheduled laboratory sessions in various
classes for other students, meeting any requirements that might have. These assignments
often required that he learn to use new equipment and software, as well as be aware of
methods and designs, and he did put in many hours overtime working with assistances of
the Industrial Laboratory, and maintained such professional relationships well and
continues to cultivate and maintain a variety of such endeavors. He retains knowledge at
many different levels, and is personally adroit in ensuring others receive such knowledge
in a timely method, as they individually need to know. He is accomplished in performing
complex and competitive tasks in a competent manner, which I an other of my colleagues
esteem. Shane Bruce has a gift of finding and completing tasks in the best possible way.
Shane is able to maintain, manage and communicate extremely well, personally, orally
and in writing. He is intrinsic in our work here, being thorough, prompt, reliable,
efficient, and professional. I believe that Shane to be an intrinsic participant to any
organization that has part in. I can highly recommend him for any task involving a
knowledge and proficiency in the use of Industrial Arts, including those of emerging
technologies yet to come. Shane Bruce is sure to be highly productive and reliable
person on which to build or maintain a great company.
