NEMO HANDY-S USE
Nokia N97 has two input methods, a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard as
well as a touchpad. Please consult the Nokia N97 user manual for further
details. Also the Nemo Handy-S user manual delineates the use of Nokia
N97’s touchpad with regard to indoor map.
Note also that there are two ways of using the phone for Nemo Handy-S
purposes, horizontally and vertically. The views in this display guide will
display the horizontal option, as it is possible to use both the QWERTY
keyboard and touchpad while the horizontal view is in use.

NEMO HANDY-S VIEWS
Below are presented the various measurement views available in Nemo
Handy-S. You can browse the various views with the left and right arrow
buttons either on the navigation button or directly on the touchpad. With the
up and down arrow buttons on the Navigation you can scroll the views. You
can also move around the views by sliding your finger across the touchpad
left, right, up and down.
By pressing the navigation button, you can switch between different
parameters within a view. You can also select a parameter with your finger
by pressing on it on the touchpad.
In playback, you can move back and forth in time on graphs with your
finger instead of using the control menu. Press lightly on the screen until a
frame appears around it, then slide forward or backward in time with your
finger.
Note that the scales in the bar and line graphs will change according to the
selected parameter.
You are also able to hide screens. To do this, go to the screen you wish to
hide and select Parameter | Hide view | OK. To control which pages are
hidden and which are not, go to Options | Tools | Page Collection. Pages
in the show mode have an icon on the top left-hand corner of each display.
You are able to select and deselect whether a page is shown or hidden by
using the mobile’s navigation button.
Nemo Configuration Editor enables you to create your own Nemo Handy-S
views. The views described here are the default views.

STATUS VIEW
Logging State tells the current recording status.
Log File Size displays the size in bytes of the measurement file.
Free Space displays the available memory card memory space.
Free Memory displays the current amount of free RAM.
System Lock, Channel Lock, Scr. Lock, and Cell Barring display status
info for the different forcing functions.
GPS Status displays the status of the GPS receiver.
Uplink file displays the voice quality audio sample file name (*.wav).
Uplink file volume displays the volume setting for voice quality audio
sample sending.
Log File Path displays the location where the measurement files are
stored on the memory card.
Log File Name displays the measurement file name.
Uplink file displays the name of the audio sample file used in audio uplink
testing.
Uplink file volume displays the playing volume of the audio sample file
used in audio uplink testing.

SCRIPT VIEW
Status displays the current status of the script.
APN displays the access point name.
File displays the name of the script file.
Repeats displays how many times the script is repeated and the ordinal
number of the current repeat.
Command displays the number of commands in the current script and a
description of the command, e.g., VoiceCallStart.
State describes the current mobile state.

GPS VIEW
The GPS view is available only if a GPS is connected to Nemo Handy-S
and the license supports the GPS.
Latitude/Longitude displays the latitude/longitude coordinates.
Height displays the current elevation in meters.
Distance displays the distance traveled from the starting point.
GPS Status displays the current status of the GPS, i.e., if there is a fix.
Satellites displays the number of satellites currently visible.
Velocity displays the current velocity of the test unit in kilometers per hour.

INDOOR MAP
You can view indoor maps in Nemo Handy-S and plot the measurement
route on the map with markers. The map can be colored based on a certain
parameter along the route.
To draw the route on the map, place markers along the route by pressing
lightly on the touchpad for a couple of seconds until a dialog button with a
text Mark opens. Press the dialog button and a marker is added. You can
also do this by selecting Map tools | Mark.
If the Draw route setting is on in the Indoor Map Settings, the markers
will be connected to form a route. Note also that Nemo Handy-S must be
logging for you to be able to place markers along the route.

To pan the map, press lightly on the screen until a blue frame appears
around it. Alternatively, select Map tools | Show controls to enable
controls, or Map tools | Up/Down/Left/Right.
The Zoom out and Zoom in options, which can also be found from the
Map Tools menu, enable you to zoom in and out of the map view.
To prevent accidentally switching between views, you are able to lock the
indoor view by selecting Map Tools | Lock view. To unlock the view,
select Map Tools | Unlock view. When the view is locked, a lock icon is
shown on the top left side of the screen.

CUSTOM VIEW
In the Custom view you can add your own parameters to the view. Click
Display | Edit, and Display | Parameter | Add parameter to add a
parameter from a list. Select any parameter from one of Nemo Handy-S
views to add to the custom view. You can also add several pages to the
view.

BROWSER VIEW
The Browser view displays the HTML content when you run a HTML
browsing script.

TESTING VIEW
TIMESLOT TESTING
Status displays the status of the testing procedure.
Repeat displays the number of calls that have been made during the
testing session.
Phone number displays the test number to which the calls are made
during the testing session.
Channel displays the channel number of the tested channel.

CELL TESTING
Channel displays the channel number of the tested cell.
Rx level defines the minimum required Rx level the cells must have in
order for them to be tested.
EcNO defines the minimum required EcN0 the cells must have in order for
them to be tested.
Voice displays whether the tested cell connects voice calls successfully.
HTTP (HTTP Transfer) displays the user-defined URL which will be used in
the HTTP transfers.

SCANNING VIEW FOR GSM
Status displays the status of the scanning procedure.
Duration (s) displays the duration of the scanning session.
Stamp displays the current time stamp.
RX Level displays RX level per channel.

GSM VIEWS
VIEW 1/10 FOR GSM
System displays the current cellular system, e.g., GSM 1800.
Packet Tech. displays the packet data technology used. Alternatives are
GPRS, EGPRS, UMTS, and HSDPA.
Channel displays the current channel number.
CI displays the 16-bit cell identification code.
BCCH displays the broadcast control channel number.
BSIC displays the base station identity code.
Channel Type displays the current channel type. Alternatives are FR, HR,
EFR, AFR, and AHR.
RX Level displays the RX level full value when the mobile is in idle mode
and the RX level sub value when a call is connected. Values range from -
120 to -10 dBm.
RX Quality displays the RX quality full value when the mobile is in idle
mode and the RX quality sub value when a call is connected. Values range
from 0 to 7.
C1 & C2 display the C1 and C2 values.
N1 Channel displays the channel number for the first neighbor.
N1 RX Level displays the RX level for the first neighbor.

DL DTX displays whether discontinuous transmission is supported (Y/N).
LAC displays the location area code.
MCC displays the mobile country code.
MNC displays the mobile network code.
TA displays the timing advance value. Values range from 0 to 63.
MSP displays the mobile station Tx power. Values range from 0 to 32.
MSP (dBm) displays the mobile station Tx power in dBm.
MAIO displays the mobile allocation index offset.
HSN displays the hopping sequence number.
RLT displays the radio link timeout.
Hopping Channels
Voice TS DL/UL displays the numbers of used timeslots during voice call
in uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) directions.
Packet TS DL/UL displays the numbers of used timeslots during packet
data connection in uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) directions.

Emergency call displays whether emergency calls are supported in the
cell (Y/N).
IMSI attach/detach displays whether attach-detach-procedure is allowed in
the cell (Y/N).
Half rate channels displays whether half rate channels are supported in
the cell (Y/N).
C2 broadcast displays whether C2 values are broadcasted in the cell
(Y/N).
SI 7/8 broadcast displays whether system information 7 and 8 are
broadcasted in the cell (Y/N).
Cell broadcast displays whether cell broadcast is supported (Y/N).
Call re-establish displays whether re-establishment is supported (Y/N).
Early class mark send displays in idle mode whether early class mark
(ECSC) sending is supported (Y/N). In dedicated mode (conversation) n/a
is shown.
2-ter messages displays in idle mode whether 2-ter messages are
supported (Y/N). In dedicated mode (conversation) n/a is shown.
Multi band reporting displays the multi band reporting decimal value
(0,1,2,3) if supported.
GPRS support displays whether GPRS is supported in the cell (Y/N).
EDGE support displays whether EDGE is supported in the cell (Y/N).

FER displays the frame error rate percentage.
LQE displays the link quality estimate. Values range from 0 to 32.
AMR Init Codec displays the AMR initial codec mode. Alternatives are
4.75, 5.15, 5.9, 6.7, 7.4, 7.95, 10.2, and 12.2.
AMR ICMI displays the AMR initial codec mode indicator. Alternatives are
N.A., Implicit, and Signalling.
AMR Codecs displays the AMR active codec set. Alternatives are 4.75,
5.15, 5.9, 6.7, 7.4, 7.95, 10.2, and 12.2.
AMR Codec UL/DL displays the AMR mode in uplink (UL) and downlink
(DL) directions. Alternatives are 4.75, 5.15, 5.9, 6.7, 7.4, 7.95, 10.2, and
12.2.
AMR Hyst 1-3 displays the AMR 1-3 hysteresis values in dB. Values range
from 0 to 7.5 dB.
AMR Thr 1-3 displays the AMR threshold values in dB. Values range from
0 to 31.5 dB.

MAIO displays the mobile allocation index offset.
HSN displays the hopping sequence number.
Hopping Channels displays a list of hopped channels.
The Signaling Messages view displays the Layer3 and RRC signaling
message headers that are retrieved from the network.
Select the headers you wish to display in the Signaling Messages view in
Nemo Handy-S Options | Settings | General | Signaling messages
settings.

CellName displays the name of the serving cell based on BTS file.
SiteName displays the base station name based on BTS file.
Distance displays the distance to site based on BTS file.
BTS CI displays the cell ID of the serving cell based on BTS file.

MSP displays the mobile station power level class in dBm.
RX Level displays the RX level full value when the mobile is in idle mode
and the RX level sub value when a call is connected. Values range from -
120 to -10 dBm.
RX Quality displays the RX quality full value when the mobile is in idle
mode and the RX quality sub value when a call is connected. Values range
from 0 to 7.
C/I displays the C/I value. Values range from -10 to 25.
Coding DL/UL display the CS data channel coding for downlink/uplink
direction. Alternatives are 9.6 and 14.4.
#TS DL/UL displays the number of downlink/uplink timeslots.
Tput DL/UL displays the downlink/uplink data transfer rate in kilobits per
second.

VIEW 3/10 FOR GSM
The table grid view displays the channel number, CI (cell identity), BSIC,
C1, C2, LAC (location area code), and RX level for the serving (first on
list) and neighbor channels.
BCCH allocation list view displays the broadcast control channel number
and type along with a list of frequencies supported on the neighboring cells.
This parameter is broadcast on the BCCH (Broadcast Control Channel),
giving mobiles the frequencies of the BCCH carriers on neighboring cells. It
is typically used by the MS (Mobile Station) in the cell selection and re-
selection processes.

VIEW 4/10 FOR GSM
The neighbor bar view for GSM displays the channel number, BSIC, and
RX level for the serving and neighbor channels. The serving channel is
displayed first on the list (in black).
The neighbor line view for GSM displays the channel number and RX level
for the serving and neighbor channels. The serving channel is displayed
first on the list (in black). The RX level line for the serving channel is
displayed in bold.

VIEW 5/10 FOR GSM
The inter-system bar and line views display for GSM the channel number,
BSIC, and RX level for the serving and best neighbors and for UMTS the
scrambling code, RSCP, and Ec/N0 for the active set and for best pilots in
monitored set. The serving channel and the active set are displayed first on
the lists (in black).
Note that the values are displayed in real-time for the current system
only. For the other system only the last values are displayed.
VIEW 6/10 FOR GSM
MSP displays the mobile station Tx power. Values range from 0 to 32.

VIEW 7/10 FOR GSM
The data throughput line views display the application data throughput in
kilobits per second for UL and DL directions. The value is also displayed as
a line.
Note that you need to have a data transfer on to see data in these
views.
Application Throughput DL (downlink) defines the throughput from iPerf
server to client with range from 0-100000 and the unit stated as kbps.
Application Throughput DL (downlink) defines the throughput from client
to iPerf server with range from 0-100000 and the unit stated as kbps.

IPerf PER (Packet Error Rate) DL (downlink) - Lost datagram rate from
iPerf server to client. Range: 0 – 1000, unit: ‰.
IPerf PER (Packet Error Rate) UL (uplink) defines the lost datagram rate
from iPerf client to server. Range: 0 - 1000, Unit: ‰.
IPerf Jitter DL (downlink) defines latency variation from iPerf server to
client. Range: 0 – 100000, unit: ms.
IPerf Jitter UL (uplink) defines latency variation from iPerf client to server.
Range: 0 – 100000, unit: ms.
VIEW 8/10 FOR GSM
#TS DL/UL display the number of downlink/uplink timeslots.
Coding DL/UL display the CS data channel coding for downlink/uplink
directions. Alternatives are 9.6 and 14.4.

The view has several pages. Scroll up and down with the arrow button to
view all of them.
The Voice codec downlink/uplink distribution bar views display the
distribution percentages of full rate (FR%) and half rate (HR%) voice
codecs.
The CS downlink/uplink distribution bar views display the distribution
percentages of coding schemes.

Audio MOS displays downlink voice quality Mean Opinion Score when
receiving a test sample from a server or from another Nemo Handy-S.
RXQual displays RX quality.
Video MOS displays video streaming quality Mean Opinion Score during
video streaming.
Jitter displays the variance between the arrival times of data packets in
milliseconds.
Packet Loss displays the loss of packet data as a percentage.

MOS Deg. - Video quality MOS degradation. Range: 0 – 5, unit: MOS.
PER Deg.- Video quality degradation due to packet errors. Range: 0 – 100,
unit: %.
Comp. Deg. - Video quality degradation due to compression. Range: 0 –
100, unit: %.
Frm. Rate - Video frame rate. Range: 0 – 50, unit: frames.
Codec - Codec is a software algorithm that enables decompression for
digital video.
The PING line view displays ping round-trip time in milliseconds. The value
is also displayed as a line.

VIEW 10/10 FOR GSM AND UMTS
The 10/10 views display statistics for various measurement events. The
views are the same for GSM and UMTS. You can reset the statistics by
selecting Tools | Statistics Reset. To collect statistics from multiple
successive measurement sessions, select Options | Settings | General
and set Save statistics to Yes. To save statistics to csv file, select
Options | Tools | Export Statistics and enter a new file name. This
feature is available in Handy-S Basic and Handy-S Pro.

WLAN VIEW
WLAN views display all available WLAN access points. An active WLAN
connection is not required.
SSID displays the Service Set Identifier of the WLAN access point.
Channel displays the channel number of the WLAN access point.
RSSI displays the received signal strength in dBm.
BSSID NIC displays the Network Interface Controller (NIC) part of the
Media Access Control (MAC) address of the WLAN access point.
Service Set ID displays the Service Set Identifier of the WLAN access
point.
RSSI displays the received signal strength in dBm.

Active Access Point (AP) Details view requires an active WLAN connection.
SSID displays the Service Set Identifier of the WLAN access point.
BSSID displays the Media Access Control (MAC) address of the WLAN
access point.
Sec Mode displays the security mode of the WLAN access point. Open
indicates that the connection is not encrypted. Wps, Wpa-Psk, etc. indicate
the security mode.
Channel displays the channel number of the WLAN access point.
RSSI displays the received signal strength in dBm.
Security displays the security modes of the inactive WLAN access points.
Open indicates that the connection is not encrypted. Wps, Wpa-Psk, etc.
indicate the security mode.
Transfer rate displays the maximum theoretical transfer rates of the
inactive WLAN access points
SSID displays the Service Set Identifiers of the inactive WLAN access
points.

VIEW 1/10 FOR UMTS
System displays the current cellular system, e.g., UMTS.

Active SCRs displays the active set scrambling codes.
RRC State displays the RRC state. Alternatives are Idle, URA PCH, Cell
PCH, Cell FACH, and Cell DCH.
Compr. Mode displays the status of compressed mode (on/off).
Carrier RSSI displays the carrier RSSI value. Values range from -120 to -
10.

BLER DL displays the block error rate value in downlink direction.
Init. TX Pwr. displays the initial transmission power in dBm. Values range
from –99 to 99.
RACH TX Pwr. displays the RACH message power in dB.
Preamble Count displays the transmitted preamble count. Values range
from 1 to 65.
AICH Status displays the RACH message transmission result.
MAC-HS Tput displays MAC-hs throughput.
MAC-HS BLER displays MAC-hs block error rate.

Act rate displays the downlink Activity rate.
CQI displays the Channel Quality Indicator.
TBI displays the Transport Block Size Indicator.
Modulation displays the ratio of QPSK/16QAM activity.
#Codes displays the number of HS-PDSCH channelization codes.
HSDPA coding displays coding mode.
The Signaling Messages view displays the Layer3 and RRC signaling
message headers that are retrieved from the network.

active scr.

RSCP displays the RSCP (received signal code power) value for each
scrambling code.

The neighbor line and bar views for UMTS display the scrambling code,
RSCP, and Ec/No for the active, monitored, and detected sets. The active
set is displayed first on the list (in black).

VIEW 5/10 FOR UMTS
The inter-system bar and line views display for GSM the channel number,
BSIC, and RX level for the serving and best neighbors and for UMTS the
scrambling code, RSCP, and Ec/N0 for the active set and for best pilots in
monitored set. The serving channel and the active set are displayed first on
the lists (in black).
Note that the values are displayed in real-time for the current system
only. For the other system only the last values are displayed.

VIEW 6/10 FOR UMTS
Carrier RSSI displays the carrier RSSI value. Values range from -120 to -
10.
TX Power displays the TX power level in dBm. Values range from 30 to -
120.
DL/UL Pwr Up % display the percentages of downlink (DL) and uplink (UL)
power up commands.
BLER DL displays the block error rate value in downlink direction.

SIR displays the signal-to-interference ratio target. Values range from –50
to 50.
BLER DL displays the block error rate value in downlink direction.
This page combines some parameters found on the previous pages. To
change the scale to display values for the different parameters, select a
parameter, for example, TX Pwr by pressing the navigation button. Then
press 5.

VIEW 7/10 FOR UMTS
The data throughput line views display the application data throughput in
kilobits per second for UL and DL directions. Also BLER DL is displayed.
Note that you need to have a data transfer on to see data in these
views.

MAC Tput displays MAC throughput.
MAC BLER displays MAC block error rate.
Act rate displays the downlink Activity rate.
16QAM/QPSK% displays the relative ratio of 16QAM and QSPK
modulation activity.
#Codes displays the number of HS-PDSCH channelization codes.
CQI displays the Channel Quality Indicator.

VIEW 9/10 FOR UMTS
The AMR Codec UL% DL% displays the distribution of various codecs in
uplink and downlink.
Audio MOS displays downlink voice quality Mean Opinion Score when
receiving a test sample from a server or from another Nemo Handy-S.
BLER displays block error rate.
50 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide
Video MOS displays video streaming quality Mean Opinion Score during
video streaming.
Jitter displays the variance between the arrival times of data packets in
milliseconds.
Packet Loss displays the loss of packet data as a percentage.
MOS Deg. - Video quality MOS degradation. Range: 0 – 5, unit: MOS.
PER Deg.- Video quality degradation due to packet errors. Range: 0 – 100,
unit: %.
Comp. Deg. - Video quality degradation due to compression. Range: 0 –
100, unit: %.
Frm. Rate - Video frame rate. Range: 0 – 50, unit: frames.
Codec - Codec is a software algorithm that enables decompression for
digital video.

The PING line view displays the ping round-trip time in milliseconds.

  • 5. 5 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide NEMO HANDY-S USE Nokia N97 has two input methods, a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard as well as a touchpad. Please consult the Nokia N97 user manual for further details. Also the Nemo Handy-S user manual delineates the use of Nokia N97’s touchpad with regard to indoor map. Note also that there are two ways of using the phone for Nemo Handy-S purposes, horizontally and vertically. The views in this display guide will display the horizontal option, as it is possible to use both the QWERTY keyboard and touchpad while the horizontal view is in use.
  • 6. 6 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide NEMO HANDY-S VIEWS Below are presented the various measurement views available in Nemo Handy-S. You can browse the various views with the left and right arrow buttons either on the navigation button or directly on the touchpad. With the up and down arrow buttons on the Navigation you can scroll the views. You can also move around the views by sliding your finger across the touchpad left, right, up and down. By pressing the navigation button, you can switch between different parameters within a view. You can also select a parameter with your finger by pressing on it on the touchpad. In playback, you can move back and forth in time on graphs with your finger instead of using the control menu. Press lightly on the screen until a frame appears around it, then slide forward or backward in time with your finger. Note that the scales in the bar and line graphs will change according to the selected parameter. You are also able to hide screens. To do this, go to the screen you wish to hide and select Parameter | Hide view | OK. To control which pages are hidden and which are not, go to Options | Tools | Page Collection. Pages in the show mode have an icon on the top left-hand corner of each display. You are able to select and deselect whether a page is shown or hidden by using the mobile’s navigation button. Nemo Configuration Editor enables you to create your own Nemo Handy-S views. The views described here are the default views.
  • 7. 7 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide STATUS VIEW Logging State tells the current recording status. Log File Size displays the size in bytes of the measurement file. Free Space displays the available memory card memory space. Free Memory displays the current amount of free RAM. System Lock, Channel Lock, Scr. Lock, and Cell Barring display status info for the different forcing functions. GPS Status displays the status of the GPS receiver. Uplink file displays the voice quality audio sample file name (*.wav). Uplink file volume displays the volume setting for voice quality audio sample sending. Log File Path displays the location where the measurement files are stored on the memory card. Log File Name displays the measurement file name. Uplink file displays the name of the audio sample file used in audio uplink testing. Uplink file volume displays the playing volume of the audio sample file used in audio uplink testing.
  • 8. 8 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide SCRIPT VIEW Status displays the current status of the script. APN displays the access point name. File displays the name of the script file. Repeats displays how many times the script is repeated and the ordinal number of the current repeat. Command displays the number of commands in the current script and a description of the command, e.g., VoiceCallStart. State describes the current mobile state.
  • 9. 9 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide GPS VIEW The GPS view is available only if a GPS is connected to Nemo Handy-S and the license supports the GPS. Latitude/Longitude displays the latitude/longitude coordinates. Height displays the current elevation in meters. Distance displays the distance traveled from the starting point. GPS Status displays the current status of the GPS, i.e., if there is a fix. Satellites displays the number of satellites currently visible. Velocity displays the current velocity of the test unit in kilometers per hour.
  • 10. 10 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide INDOOR MAP You can view indoor maps in Nemo Handy-S and plot the measurement route on the map with markers. The map can be colored based on a certain parameter along the route. To draw the route on the map, place markers along the route by pressing lightly on the touchpad for a couple of seconds until a dialog button with a text Mark opens. Press the dialog button and a marker is added. You can also do this by selecting Map tools | Mark. If the Draw route setting is on in the Indoor Map Settings, the markers will be connected to form a route. Note also that Nemo Handy-S must be logging for you to be able to place markers along the route.
  • 11. 11 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide To pan the map, press lightly on the screen until a blue frame appears around it. Alternatively, select Map tools | Show controls to enable controls, or Map tools | Up/Down/Left/Right. The Zoom out and Zoom in options, which can also be found from the Map Tools menu, enable you to zoom in and out of the map view. To prevent accidentally switching between views, you are able to lock the indoor view by selecting Map Tools | Lock view. To unlock the view, select Map Tools | Unlock view. When the view is locked, a lock icon is shown on the top left side of the screen.
  • 12. 12 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide CUSTOM VIEW In the Custom view you can add your own parameters to the view. Click Display | Edit, and Display | Parameter | Add parameter to add a parameter from a list. Select any parameter from one of Nemo Handy-S views to add to the custom view. You can also add several pages to the view.

  • 14. 14 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide TESTING VIEW TIMESLOT TESTING Status displays the status of the testing procedure. Repeat displays the number of calls that have been made during the testing session. Phone number displays the test number to which the calls are made during the testing session. Channel displays the channel number of the tested channel.
  • 15. 15 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide CELL TESTING Channel displays the channel number of the tested cell. Rx level defines the minimum required Rx level the cells must have in order for them to be tested. EcNO defines the minimum required EcN0 the cells must have in order for them to be tested. Voice displays whether the tested cell connects voice calls successfully. HTTP (HTTP Transfer) displays the user-defined URL which will be used in the HTTP transfers.

Alternatives are GPRS, EGPRS, UMTS, and HSDPA. Channel displays the current channel number. CI displays the 16-bit cell identification code. BCCH displays the broadcast control channel number. BSIC displays the base station identity code. Channel Type displays the current channel type. Alternatives are FR, HR, EFR, AFR, and AHR. RX Level displays the RX level full value when the mobile is in idle mode and the RX level sub value when a call is connected. Values range from - 120 to -10 dBm. RX Quality displays the RX quality full value when the mobile is in idle mode and the RX quality sub value when a call is connected. Values range from 0 to 7. C1 & C2 display the C1 and C2 values. N1 Channel displays the channel number for the first neighbor. N1 RX Level displays the RX level for the first neighbor.

MNC displays the mobile network code. TA displays the timing advance value. Values range from 0 to 63. MSP displays the mobile station Tx power. Values range from 0 to 32. MSP (dBm) displays the mobile station Tx power in dBm. MAIO displays the mobile allocation index offset. HSN displays the hopping sequence number. RLT displays the radio link timeout. Hopping Channels Voice TS DL/UL displays the numbers of used timeslots during voice call in uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) directions. Packet TS DL/UL displays the numbers of used timeslots during packet data connection in uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) directions.

IMSI attach/detach displays whether attach-detach-procedure is allowed in the cell (Y/N). Half rate channels displays whether half rate channels are supported in the cell (Y/N). C2 broadcast displays whether C2 values are broadcasted in the cell (Y/N). SI 7/8 broadcast displays whether system information 7 and 8 are broadcasted in the cell (Y/N). Cell broadcast displays whether cell broadcast is supported (Y/N). Call re-establish displays whether re-establishment is supported (Y/N). Early class mark send displays in idle mode whether early class mark (ECSC) sending is supported (Y/N). In dedicated mode (conversation) n/a is shown. 2-ter messages displays in idle mode whether 2-ter messages are supported (Y/N). In dedicated mode (conversation) n/a is shown. Alternatives are N.A., Implicit, and Signalling. AMR Codecs displays the AMR active codec set. Alternatives are 4.75, 5.15, 5.9, 6.7, 7.4, 7.95, 10.2, and 12.2. AMR Codec UL/DL displays the AMR mode in uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) directions. Alternatives are 4.75, 5.15, 5.9, 6.7, 7.4, 7.95, 10.2, and 12.2. AMR Hyst 1-3 displays the AMR 1-3 hysteresis values in dB. Values range from 0 to 7.5 dB. AMR Thr 1-3 displays the AMR threshold values in dB. Values range from 0 to 31.5 dB.

The Signaling Messages view displays the Layer3 and RRC signaling message headers that are retrieved from the network. Select the headers you wish to display in the Signaling Messages view in Nemo Handy-S Options | Settings | General | Signaling messages settings.

RX Quality displays the RX quality full value when the mobile is in idle mode and the RX quality sub value when a call is connected. Values range from 0 to 7. C/I displays the C/I value. Values range from -10 to 25. Coding DL/UL display the CS data channel coding for downlink/uplink direction. Alternatives are 9.6 and 14.4. #TS DL/UL displays the number of downlink/uplink timeslots. Tput DL/UL displays the downlink/uplink data transfer rate in kilobits per second.
  • 25. 25 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide VIEW 3/10 FOR GSM The table grid view displays the channel number, CI (cell identity), BSIC, C1, C2, LAC (location area code), and RX level for the serving (first on list) and neighbor channels. BCCH allocation list view displays the broadcast control channel number and type along with a list of frequencies supported on the neighboring cells. This parameter is broadcast on the BCCH (Broadcast Control Channel), giving mobiles the frequencies of the BCCH carriers on neighboring cells. It is typically used by the MS (Mobile Station) in the cell selection and re- selection processes.

The serving channel and the active set are displayed first on the lists (in black). Note that the values are displayed in real-time for the current system only. For the other system only the last values are displayed. VIEW 6/10 FOR GSM MSP displays the mobile station Tx power. Values range from 0 to 32.

The Voice codec downlink/uplink distribution bar views display the distribution percentages of full rate (FR%) and half rate (HR%) voice codecs. The CS downlink/uplink distribution bar views display the distribution percentages of coding schemes.

Video MOS displays video streaming quality Mean Opinion Score during video streaming. Jitter displays the variance between the arrival times of data packets in milliseconds. Packet Loss displays the loss of packet data as a percentage.

Codec - Codec is a software algorithm that enables decompression for digital video. The PING line view displays ping round-trip time in milliseconds. The value is also displayed as a line.
  • 34. 34 Nemo Handy-S Display Guide VIEW 10/10 FOR GSM AND UMTS The 10/10 views display statistics for various measurement events. The views are the same for GSM and UMTS. You can reset the statistics by selecting Tools | Statistics Reset. To collect statistics from multiple successive measurement sessions, select Options | Settings | General and set Save statistics to Yes. To save statistics to csv file, select Options | Tools | Export Statistics and enter a new file name. This feature is available in Handy-S Basic and Handy-S Pro.

SSID displays the Service Set Identifier of the WLAN access point. Channel displays the channel number of the WLAN access point. RSSI displays the received signal strength in dBm. BSSID NIC displays the Network Interface Controller (NIC) part of the Media Access Control (MAC) address of the WLAN access point. Service Set ID displays the Service Set Identifier of the WLAN access point. RSSI displays the received signal strength in dBm.

BSSID displays the Media Access Control (MAC) address of the WLAN access point. Sec Mode displays the security mode of the WLAN access point. Open indicates that the connection is not encrypted. Wps, Wpa-Psk, etc. indicate the security mode. Channel displays the channel number of the WLAN access point. RSSI displays the received signal strength in dBm. Security displays the security modes of the inactive WLAN access points. Open indicates that the connection is not encrypted. Wps, Wpa-Psk, etc. indicate the security mode. Transfer rate displays the maximum theoretical transfer rates of the inactive WLAN access points SSID displays the Service Set Identifiers of the inactive WLAN access points.

Alternatives are GPRS, EGPRS, UMTS, and HSDPA. Channel displays the current channel number. CI displays the 16-bit cell identification code. * Active SCRs displays the active set scrambling codes. RRC State displays the RRC state. Alternatives are Idle, URA PCH, Cell PCH, Cell FACH, and Cell DCH. Compr. Mode displays the status of compressed mode (on/off). Carrier RSSI displays the carrier RSSI value. Values range from -120 to - 10. 1 st act. Ec/No displays the Ec/No value for the best active set cell. 1st act. RSCP displays the RSCP value for the best active set cell. LAC displays the location area code. MCC displays the mobile country code. MNC displays the mobile network code. * Please note that when the terminal is in a call, CI value will not be updated. This is normal behavior since network is not updating CI during active state.
