This presentation provides an overview of life on Earth. It discusses the key kingdoms of life (Monera, Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia), ecosystems on Earth like forests and oceans, and the importance of biodiversity and ecosystems for sustaining life. Examples of terrestrial ecosystems mentioned are forests, grasslands, tundra, and deserts, while aquatic ecosystems include freshwater and marine. The life cycles of both plants and animals are also summarized, from seed/birth through growth and reproduction to death. The presentation aims to explain the diversity of life on our planet.

3. ABOUT EARTH
Earth is the third planet from the Sun. It is the
only known planet in the universe where life has
originated.
4. LIFE ON EARTH
Life is defined as any form of system that is able to
perform various functions such as eating,
metabolizing, breathing, and responding to
external stimuli. Earth is the only known planet to
host life.
5. WHY STUDY LIFE
ON EARTH?
It helps us understand why the Earth became
suited for life and why it has remained so for over
billions of years.
6. BIODIVERSITY
ON EARTH
Biodiversity (diversity of life on Earth) refers to the
variety of life on Earth which can cover the
evolutionary, ecological, and cultural processes
that sustain life.
7. THE 5 KINGDOMS
OF LIVING THINGS
There are millions of living things that are
present in our planet, and they are divided into 5
kingdoms. The following slides will show what
they are.
8. ANIMAL KINGDOM
Also known as Animalia, this is the most
evolved kingdom and is divided into vertebrates
and invertebrates.
9. PLANT KINGDOM
Known as the Plantae kingdom, this is composed
of trees, plants, and other species of vegetation
and is characterized by its multicellular and
eukaryotic nature.
10. FUNGI KINGDOM
This kingdom of living things consists of yeasts,
moulds, and all species of mushrooms and
toadstools
11. PROTISTA KINGDOM
The most primitive of the eukaryotes and
consists of the eukaryotic organisms that are
not deemed to be plants, animals, or fungi.
12. MONERA KINGDOM
This consists of the microscopic living things
and groups together with prokaryotes, (archaea
and bacteria) and made up of single-cell things
with no defined nucleus.
13. ECOSYSTEMS OF
THE EARTH
An ecosystem is defined as a community of
living organisms that interact with each other
and the environment.
