Movie Theater Experience
Experiencing Film in Theaters Watching movies is probably one of my favorite activities, it does not matter if the movie good or bad; I just want
to watch them. I loved going to the theaters as a kid because the entire experience was always so exciting, especially since it was the first thing my
mother let me do out on my own. Going to the movies had always been a blessing but as I have grown I have made an effort to go less often. While
the experience is still the same I just notice just how bad the overall experience can be as well.
Honestly, the best part of watching a movie in theaters is the movie theater experience; for example the seats, the popcorn, the large screen, the sound
system, the people, and the new releases. It is not just you in your room watching a movie, it is you reacting to the film and to the people around you
around you as well, all the while getting all these over the top elements as well. Movie going takes a common experience and amplifies it so it feels
like you're getting something even greater.
Plus, my favorite part for any film has always been the trailers; the exciting bits and pieces of coming films thrown together to entice future visits. With
fast paced action and cliffhanging details that are thrown in the 2–3 minute time frame, I am left wanting to come back and see that movie when it
comes out. It is how they reel me in and keep me coming back in regular intervals. I have also gotten really into staying for the credits as well

Why Comedy Movies Are So Great Essay
There are many forms of expression inside of everybody; however the most common form is laughter. The sound of laughter can be heard all around
the worlds every second, it helps us relieve stress and makes us feel better about ourselves. Comedy movies play such an important role in helping us
laugh. There are many forms of movies out there today. In spite of the recent incline in action and horror movies today, comedy movies has always
been my number one choice because it gives people an opportunity to look at humor in life, it usually has a pointless, useless moral that we can relate
to, and it allows you to look at things in a new light and possibly expand your horizon to become a more optimistic person....show more content...
Many of the morals in a comedy movie can relate to us; however, it usually is a moral that is just useless facts that we don't need in our daily life.
In the movie, Me, Myself, and Irene is an example of a moral that we can relate to but really don't need. In the beginning of the movie the character
has found the love of his life, they get married and live a happy life until his wife finds another guy and they get divorced. At the end of the movie
the main character finds another girl he really likes and was going to let her walk out of his life, until he realizes he is not going to be happy without
her and stops her from leaving. The moral in the movie was that you shouldn't let a loved one go by without telling that person your feelings. We can
relate to this but it wont be of value in our daily life.
Comedy movies can educate us and make us change into a different person as well. It allows us to look at things in a new light and possibly expand
your horizon to become a more optimistic person. The term optimistic means a person who has a positive outlook in life. Not many comedies has this
characteristic in their movies; however, one movie that does is Dumb and dumber. Both the characters were stupid, so they took something a person
would say and take it very literally.

Descriptive Essay About A Movie
I had just gotten off work and I was running around frantically trying to find the perfect outfit for a movie date, I didn't want to be too dressed up, but
also not in a t–shirt and shorts, like I usually am. My parents wouldn't let me leave until they got to meet Garrett, the guy who was taking me out to
the movies. I was super nervous they weren't going to like him because of his interests. So I send Garrett a text saying that my parents wanted him
to come into the house so they could meet him. My dad is very blunt and doesn't know how to control himself sometimes, but I asked him to be nice
and if he had any comments to keep them to himself, and thankfully, he did, but he snuck in "what? Does he need a pair of your jeans?" right before
Garrett walked through the front door. Garrett is a guy who wears skinny jeans everyday, literally, everyday and he has curly shaggy hair, which I think
suits him perfectly.
It was completely silent majority of the car ride, besides the music playing the background. I think it would have been a little less awkward if we had
the same music tastes, but unfortunately, we did not. He is into screamo songs, and I'm more into hip/hop and pop. We talked a little here and there,
and finally arrived to the town Union, where we would be seeing the movie. We got there super early, like almost an hour early, so we looked up
back roads to drive on to waste our time. While we drove around waiting on our movie, we got to talk about ourselves. I would ask

Argumentative Essay On The Movie Get Out
The controversial movie Get out is a movie that none of the public expected which worked out in the director, Jordan Peel's favor. The genre is
unknown to even the director of the movie even though others have classified the film as a comedy. From first–hand experience of watching the film, I
can assure you that, that is not the case. Get out deals with racism issues e.g., when the main character's white girlfriend, Rose Armitage, played by
Allison Williams, hits a deer on the way to her parent's house with her black boyfriend, Chris Washington, played by Daniel Kaluuya, with him
sitting in the passenger side. When Rose calls the police to report the issue, the police officer proceeds to ask for Chris' driver's license although he
was not the one driving. Rose makes a scene telling the officer that it was not fair that he had to present his license and Chris was quietly trying to
calm her down because he knew that it was not going to make a difference. By putting this scene into the movie, the director wanted to address some
of the issues that African Americans have to deal with from the police. Before they even drove to her parent's house, Chris informed that he was
hesitant to go because she did not inform her parents that he was in fact, black. But, despite the hesitation, he decided to go anyway. When they
arrived at her parents' house Rose's father, Dean Armitage, played by Bradley Whitford, almost immediately began to act "black" by saying slurs like

My Favorite Movie Essay
Every person can relate to being asked the question: "What's your favorite movie?". Most of the time this is a very tricky question for people to
answer, simply because there are so many viable options to chose from. Strangely enough, if you were to ask a movie director or producer what their
favorite films are, they'd give you a straightforward and honest answer consisting of only one or a few different titles that come to mind. As strange as
it sounds, directors who have grown up or become accustomed to the Film Industry usually have strong set opinions and perspectives that tend to
reflect in their own projects and exploits, even though they are continually surrounded by all sorts of inspirations and potential influencers. Contrary to
what you might expect, these directors, editors, producers, and creators tend to remain very set in their ways and adapt their works into forms of
reflectives stemming from their everyday perspective. My own aunt, Devin Adair, has worked in the film industry for nearly two decades, during which
she has spent time in commercial, television, independent and studio film markets, finally chasing her own dream of creating her own masterpiece of
film. Her, like many before, came into the industry bright–eyed and hopeful, awaiting the great and many potential opportunities. But she came to
realize that the road leading there would have many twists and turns, each producing more and more speed bumps along the way. Her story is one of

Persuasive Essay About My Favorite Movie
For as long as I can remember the Adventures of the Wilderness Family has been my favorite movie. I was fascinated by how close to nature Pat,
Skip, Jenny, and Toby were and particularly how close to wildlife they were. Every time I watched that movie I was just in awe of how beautiful it
was and how they could sustain themselves and persevere through anything including multiple animal attacks. When I was a kid I always imagined
running free in a field filled with flowers and being so close to nature and feeling free to explore my own little world. I have watched this movie
countless times and have purposely never examined any faults the movie might have because I enjoyed it exactly the way it was. I never looked at it
and actually saw...show more content...
Whenever a character got attacked they seemed to take it really lightly, when realistically that is life–threatening. Childhood me really appreciated this
movie for the kind of life I hoped to live when I got older. As a kid I would spend a lot of time by the pond outside my dad's house and exploring
the woods and backyard with my brothers and my Dad and watching this movie made me look toward the possibility of one day living a life that
ultimately felt free from my parents' issues and social conflicts and allowed me to find the heart and soul of who I am and depend on myself as I
felt in a way I always had. As a kid I felt like the odd duck out sometimes and felt trapped between my parents as I still do today, so moving to a
place like Gunnison National Forest seemed like the ultimate sense of freedom to me. I wasn't looking for a place where I felt like I was free from
all of the issues I had to deal with growing up and I could thrive as an individual without having to worry about having the coolest new things that my
elementary peers had before it was uncool or eventually about having the latest Apple products or designer handbags. A lesson this movie really pushes
to heart on its viewers is the importance of reducing materialistic values. During the time that this movie was produced America started becoming more
urban and building new cities. The start of the movie takes

Describe an interesting film you saw recently. You should say; What is the title? When did you see it? What is the story about? And explain why this
movie was interesting to you.
Last summer, my family and I went to AMC Movie Theater in Cupertino and enjoyed a movie entitled "Journey to the Center of the Earth".
It was a Science Fiction and adventure movie in three–dimensions.
We enjoyed state–of –the–art computer graphics in the movie. For instance, when a dinosaur chased the characters, I was on edge as if I were with them.
The movie's plot started from the idea that another world exists deep inside of the earth with a variety of unusual creatures. It showed the director's
extensive imagination and creativity. I was preoccupied...show more content...

Q. Do you believe that the movie rating system is necessary for current films?
Yes, definitely. Nowadays, there are too many films which contain violent and sexual contents. So, it's very harmful for children or teenagers. Thus, it
is inevitable to have rating system to distinguish the people who can see the film from those who cannot.
Q. What do you think about the violence on TV or in films?
The violence on TV or in films is terrible nowadays. It seems like movie producers do not care about innocent children or teenagers who might be
affected by those horrible scenes. There was an incidence that one child imitated the crime on a film and killed his brother. So, I think there should be
much strict laws against the violence on TV.
Q. Do you think movies are better recently than they were in the past?
As far as special effects are concerned, yes, movies are definitely better now. But I don't think the stories are necessarily better than those produced in
the past. In fact, I think a lot of the time movie markers concentrate too much on special effects and forget about a plot.
Q. What sort of topics do movie producers consider for the films?
Since movies try to picture out the reality as well as

Essay on Film Making
Film Making
Film production phases
Film production is the process of making a film starting from the story or idea through scriptwriting, shooting to the distribution of the movie to the
audience. There are four main phases involved in film making.
Development phase
In the development phase, the film is written from the story (Cones, p. 195). The story may come from a book, a play, another film or an original
idea developed by the film producer. During the development of the film, the film producer works in corroboration with the film writers to develop
the film message and a theme of the message. They then prepare a synopsis of the film. The film producer and the writers then prepare a step outline
of the film that break the whole...show more content...
It is aimed at making the film ready to be distributed to the viewers (Barbara and Sphor, p. 1–3). In this phase, the production scripts and items are
assembled to make a complete movie. According to Barbara and Sphor (2002), activities involved in the post–production phase include film processing
and printing. Moreover, the pictures and the sound are synchronized in the post–production phase, and an assemblage created. After the movie has been
completed, it is then ready to be distributed to the viewers.
Narrative films
According to Pramaggiore and Wallis (p. 8), narrative films produce comedy or tragedy. Therefore, in narrative films, viewers expect the stories of
human actors that produce comedy or tragedy due to circumstances. According to Pramaggiore and Wallis (p. 8), viewers of narrative films would
expect to see stories about people who in the attempt to achieve certain objectives or goals undergo through various obstacles on their way.
Mise–en–scene
This is a term used in film production and that is concerned with the way the story is told in a film (Gibbs, p. 5–10). As such it refers to all the
elements of visual styles used in the film. Mise–en–scene refers to all components of the film composition including the film composition, film
framing, camera and character movement, film lighting as well as the sound used in the film composition.

Literary Analysis of Movie How does it feel starting over in a completely new place? In the movie "The Karate Kid", Daniel, the main character,

Good teachers can make their students' future better because students follow what their teachers say. On the contrary, bad teachers have the power
to make their students' future horrible because then the student will follow what the bad teachers say. Do you believe that moving to California
can change the person they are? In the movie, when Daniel moved to the California, he felt lonely. He did not have any friends; he was frustrated
and started begging his mom to go back home when the bullies made his life hell. After meeting Mr. Miyagi and his new friend Ali, who became
his girlfriend, he started learning the lessons of life and started liking the new place. In the beginning, Daniel believed that karate was all about
fighting, but after meeting Mr.Miyagi, he learned that karate is all about balance, which is important in a person's life. When he got injured on his
left leg during the final round in the karate championship tournament, he decided to play the final point by balancing himself on one leg, knocking
down his opponent, and achieving victory. Overall, good friends and teachers have significant influences over a teenager's life. Life's hard for people
who migrate to a country. Did you ever think about immigrants who come from another country? First of all, I identify with this movie because Daniel

The Job of a Film Director Essay
The Job of a Film Director The film director has an elaborate job, classed as an art in its own sense. Its meticulous details and multi million dollar
bills at the end make a director's job truly an art. How they can take the imagination and lay it on a roll of film is an array of elaborate casting, screening
etc. and requires a special skill. The general meaning of the word director is:

Unsure of trust or higher power, Billy is forced to a state of neglect, beautifully represented with Loach's brutal simplicity and bland surroundings.
Billy then goes out to his paper round we see that his bike has been taken by Jud. We have enough information to know that Jud is a bully and that
he cares not for any brotherly bond that they might have. This is further used by Loach to show hate and despair. So Billy now has to run to the
shop. This is a good chance for the director to show the viewer the environment that Billy lives in; this scene really gives 'a sense of place'. The
director has established to the viewer the importance of the location. We can see now that Simplicity is now used now in every aspect of the
filming, even cinematography. All scenes are broad and general, no closing up to anything, maybe portraying the views of Billy. I believe there is
no studio work or specially constructed sets because it contributes to the film. It gives it an air of atmosphere, realism but most importantly
Simplicity. As he runs through the dilapidated slums of Barnsley there are three layers I think to the scene. First of all there is Billy about to leave

"If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity" – John F. Kennedy. All the events I went to pertain to the
idea of diversifying the world and Babson campus. At first I was really surprised to see that Babson supports these kind of events because I
thought they were just strictly all about business. I found it pretty amazing that Babson students participate in the arts and that Babson hosts so
many culturally diverse and open minded events and plays. In September, I went to see the screening of "I am not your Negro".In October, I went
to go watch the play "Clybourne Park". In November, I went to watch the Aman show; these events took place in the Sorenson Theater. I went to

watching the documentary. Before the screening,I went to The Global lounge to get some food from Panera bread."The story of the Negro in America

suspense coming from the audience. I was a bit surprised at first because I thought a majority of the audience would be African–American, but the
theater was filled diversely with people from all over . I took the furthest seat from the stage/screen not only because I didn't know anyone who was

What Is My Favorite Movie Essay
This might be the hardest question for me to answer. What's my favorite movie? Like books, a movie is another way to connect with fictional
characters and it really is hard to choose your favorite adventure. I would have to say I enjoy the movie White Chicks and any movie that I can have a

enjoy 3D art, like, working with clay. I also enjoy swimming (not competitively)
To me, to be literate means that you are able to read and able to comprehend sentences. Also, when you are able to read abook and envision the story

you can read movies, music, and people etc. For example, a psychologist is able to read people's expressions and emotions. A conductor or musician
reads music and is able to interpret that into music. I see movies as books but just being played intron tot your eyes instead of words...show more

Turning A Book Into A Movie
Turning a Book into a Movie for Whose Gain?
The article: Turning a Book into a Movie: An Author's Perspective, written by Michael Murie as a summary of a panel, at the Boston Book Festival,
in which five authors discussed their experiences when their books were turned into movies. The five authors were: Nick Flynn, Daniel Handler, Buzz
Bissinger, Rachel Cohn and Andre Dubus III. Just as each of the authors books were different, their experiences in thefilmmaking process were very
different. Cohn was thrilled with the production of her novel, Nick& Norah's Infinite Playlist. Cohn saw the movie as a "Two–hour advertisement for
your [her] book" (Murie). In contrast, Bissinger was disappointed with the movie and TV series, which although...show more content...
They both get publicity from each other, and both receive a share of the profit. If you remember in Michael Murie's article Cohn says "It's [the
movie] like a two hour advertisement for your [the author's] book" (Murie). Cohn's quote illustrates the publicity the book gets from the movie, by
comparing it to an advertisement. The movie gets publicity from the book in similar ways. For example the cover of my paperback copy of J.R.
Tolkien's Hobbit exclaims in bold letters "Now a Major Motion Picture". Not only do both sides get publicity from each other, but both sides also
share in the profit. Authors receive a profit by selling the rights of their book. Movie Producers make a fortune if the movie is a success.
In addition to the publicity and profit, movie producers also receive a foundation for the movie and fans from the start, when they base their
movies on books. Even though a book provides the movie producers with a foundation, the book can also stifle creativity. The five authors in
Murie's article all agreed that books do not make good scripts (Murie). Often the fans of the book transform into fans and supporters of the movie.
Interest in the movie is generated before the movie is even created. However excitement for movies can be generated in other ways just as easily.
For example fans of Marvel Studio movies will be excited for the next Marvel movie because it carries the Marvel name. Or a certain

My Favorite Movies Essay
Have you ever thought about what kind of movies you have watched and why you have watched them? Ever since I was a child, I always liked
watching movies that had unique and interesting characteristics in it. My parents told me that when I was a child I never wanted to watch movies
that were long and had boring plot. They tell me that I was very fussy on what movies I wanted to watch, and that I always watched movies that
encouraged or taught kids something good about behaviour or environment.. Since my parents told me this, I can now very much relate to my
childhood and I think that I have not changed at all. This is because I am still very picky about the movies I watch. All the movies should have certain
characteristics such as acting, villain, and plot in order to be considered good movies by the audience.
Without a good actor in a movie, the movie will seem mundane to the audience watching it. One of the movies that I think has good acting is Home
Alone. In this movie, there is a boy name Kevin who is left behind at his house while his family goes on a vacation. This movie is all about how
Kevin, an eight year old boy, faces difficulties while he is alone at his house and learns that two burglars are planning to rob his house. I think this
movie is great and entertaining because it shows how an eight year old kid deals with the robbery that was going to take place in his house all by
himself. Another movie that I believe has good acting is Star Wars– The Force

What Makes a Great Film? Essay
What Makes a Great Film?
With movies, you are able to travel back in time and explore unknown eras. If you rather race ahead of your century, they can also hurl you into the
future. You can easily become indulged in a mystery, fall in love in a romance, test your fright in a horror, or make the scientific impossible possible in a
science fiction. Movies are movies. They provide entertainment by immersing people into an imaginary world. However, these movies or films need to
have certain qualities in order to provide this form of entertainment and to be notable. Hence, these qualities would have to contribute in making a great
film. This would point to the question of what is it that really makes a great film.
Firstly, one of the...show more content...
Bryan Singer also showed in his movies, his outlook of society and misfits. This brings up another feature a dominant director must have in order to
create a great film. The director must make himself the primary author or voice of the movie. Through the director's film we should be able to see one
person's way of viewing the world. Hence, with a dominant director, he would have the potential to change the way we see the world. Thus, this is
another quality that goes into creating a great film.
Another feature that creates a great film is the existence of a grand, related to the scenes musical score. Music is generally used in films to support the
visual images and the action. Namely with it no verbal communication need to be required for certain scenes, since the music itself conveys what is
going to happen or what is happening.
Hence, it can be said that music adds to a film dramatic effects and establishes moods.
To illustrate this point, movie musical composer Jerry Goldsmith stated, "music shows certain scenes and it definitely gives a film the energy it
needs". An example of a movie with a musical score that has greatly enhanced the scenes is the 1968 classic "The Planet of The Apes". In this movie,
the music was so blended in, that terrifying scenes were felt even before they happened. However, it should be noted that in

Even if one plans on becoming a director and not a screenwriter one needs to know what kind of scripts to look for. This is very important for a
beginning small movie director since the reader will most likely be writing their own scripts to get some recognition. A script is a document that
outlines every aural, visual, behavioral, and lingual element required to tell a story, according to the dictionary definition at www.Wikidpedia.org. It
is crucial to remember that film is a visual medium. One doesn't tell the audience the story, one shows them. So what one will be writing is not a
novel but more like explaining a dream on paper. One must learn to write a screenplay visually. As famed director Darren Aronofsky said in an
interview with a struggling screenwriter trying to get published,
"Most of what one writes that doesn't work on screen will just be improvised on the movie set".
There are many important requirements for screenplays that may seem like minutia at first glance but the format of ones script is extremely important
since it will be submitted along with hundreds of others to one producer. For example, the main font in use in the U.S. by both publishers and the
Hollywood film industry is Courier 12 pitch According to AFI (American Film Industry) the basics of screenwriting. Though this seems unimportant,

A Bad Movie : What Makes A Movie Bad?
I don't know about you, but I love going to the movies. The smell of the popcorn, a crowded theater and a hopefully great movie can make for an
enjoyable experience. However, there are those times where someone in your theater makes the experience horrible. It can make a great movie
into a terrible experience, and it can make a bad movie worse. With this paper, I intend to give you some helpful pointers on how to avoid making a
movie bad for those around you. Hopefully if you don't already follow some of these hints you will in the future. Good theater etiquette starts
before you even get to the theater. Some of the worst experiences I have had have involved people coming into the movie after the movie has
started. It is never great when someone comes in late and either must walk in front of you or try to squeeze around you to get to a seat. If you
come in late then you must choose your battle. If its close enough to the beginning of the movie then hopefully you can manage to get to a seat
during the opening credits. If you come late, try to get to a seat while disturbing as few people as you can. Do not try squeezing into the middle of
the row when there are seats available on the end. One time I was sitting and trying to pay attention as the movie started when someone decided to
squeeze down the row. Being tall that means I need to stand up, instead of just moving my legs. There I was, as the movie is starting, standing up and
blocking the view of people behind me as

My Greatest Movies Essay

much time and effort was put in and how the animators took the time to work on each section of the movie. The soundtrack of moana was beautifully
written and composed. Another reason that moana is my number one movie is because she is not a princess. In the movie she is trained to be the
chief and wants be for her island and her people. In addition to that the characters in the film that we encounter are very compelling. We watch them
change, and grow and react throughout the movie. Lastly, the story was very strong Moana had conflicts, and goals and knew how to overcome the
conflicts to get to her goals.
2) The Hunger Games
One of the main reasons why I chose The Hunger Games as my second choice is because it is a very intense and suspenseful movie. In this film
what I really liked was that there was love, loss and explosion. You never knew what was going to happen which I enjoyed because I knew it was
going to be a very superb movie. The actors and actresses in this movie were picked out marvelously. Each character in this movie played their part as
if the Hunger Games existed. The

Movie Theater Experience

  • 1. Movie Theater Experience Experiencing Film in Theaters Watching movies is probably one of my favorite activities, it does not matter if the movie good or bad; I just want to watch them. I loved going to the theaters as a kid because the entire experience was always so exciting, especially since it was the first thing my mother let me do out on my own. Going to the movies had always been a blessing but as I have grown I have made an effort to go less often. While the experience is still the same I just notice just how bad the overall experience can be as well. Honestly, the best part of watching a movie in theaters is the movie theater experience; for example the seats, the popcorn, the large screen, the sound system, the people, and the new releases. It is not just you in your room watching a movie, it is you reacting to the film and to the people around you around you as well, all the while getting all these over the top elements as well. Movie going takes a common experience and amplifies it so it feels like you're getting something even greater. Plus, my favorite part for any film has always been the trailers; the exciting bits and pieces of coming films thrown together to entice future visits. With fast paced action and cliffhanging details that are thrown in the 2–3 minute time frame, I am left wanting to come back and see that movie when it comes out. It is how they reel me in and keep me coming back in regular intervals. I have also gotten really into staying for the credits as well Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Why Comedy Movies Are So Great Essay There are many forms of expression inside of everybody; however the most common form is laughter. The sound of laughter can be heard all around the worlds every second, it helps us relieve stress and makes us feel better about ourselves. Comedy movies play such an important role in helping us laugh. There are many forms of movies out there today. In spite of the recent incline in action and horror movies today, comedy movies has always been my number one choice because it gives people an opportunity to look at humor in life, it usually has a pointless, useless moral that we can relate to, and it allows you to look at things in a new light and possibly expand your horizon to become a more optimistic person....show more content... Many of the morals in a comedy movie can relate to us; however, it usually is a moral that is just useless facts that we don't need in our daily life. In the movie, Me, Myself, and Irene is an example of a moral that we can relate to but really don't need. In the beginning of the movie the character has found the love of his life, they get married and live a happy life until his wife finds another guy and they get divorced. At the end of the movie the main character finds another girl he really likes and was going to let her walk out of his life, until he realizes he is not going to be happy without her and stops her from leaving. The moral in the movie was that you shouldn't let a loved one go by without telling that person your feelings. We can relate to this but it wont be of value in our daily life. Comedy movies can educate us and make us change into a different person as well. It allows us to look at things in a new light and possibly expand your horizon to become a more optimistic person. The term optimistic means a person who has a positive outlook in life. Not many comedies has this characteristic in their movies; however, one movie that does is Dumb and dumber. Both the characters were stupid, so they took something a person would say and take it very literally. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Descriptive Essay About A Movie I had just gotten off work and I was running around frantically trying to find the perfect outfit for a movie date, I didn't want to be too dressed up, but also not in a t–shirt and shorts, like I usually am. My parents wouldn't let me leave until they got to meet Garrett, the guy who was taking me out to the movies. I was super nervous they weren't going to like him because of his interests. So I send Garrett a text saying that my parents wanted him to come into the house so they could meet him. My dad is very blunt and doesn't know how to control himself sometimes, but I asked him to be nice and if he had any comments to keep them to himself, and thankfully, he did, but he snuck in "what? Does he need a pair of your jeans?" right before Garrett walked through the front door. Garrett is a guy who wears skinny jeans everyday, literally, everyday and he has curly shaggy hair, which I think suits him perfectly. It was completely silent majority of the car ride, besides the music playing the background. I think it would have been a little less awkward if we had the same music tastes, but unfortunately, we did not. He is into screamo songs, and I'm more into hip/hop and pop. We talked a little here and there, and finally arrived to the town Union, where we would be seeing the movie. We got there super early, like almost an hour early, so we looked up back roads to drive on to waste our time. While we drove around waiting on our movie, we got to talk about ourselves. I would ask Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Argumentative Essay On The Movie Get Out The controversial movie Get out is a movie that none of the public expected which worked out in the director, Jordan Peel's favor. The genre is unknown to even the director of the movie even though others have classified the film as a comedy. From first–hand experience of watching the film, I can assure you that, that is not the case. Get out deals with racism issues e.g., when the main character's white girlfriend, Rose Armitage, played by Allison Williams, hits a deer on the way to her parent's house with her black boyfriend, Chris Washington, played by Daniel Kaluuya, with him sitting in the passenger side. When Rose calls the police to report the issue, the police officer proceeds to ask for Chris' driver's license although he was not the one driving. Rose makes a scene telling the officer that it was not fair that he had to present his license and Chris was quietly trying to calm her down because he knew that it was not going to make a difference. By putting this scene into the movie, the director wanted to address some of the issues that African Americans have to deal with from the police. Before they even drove to her parent's house, Chris informed that he was hesitant to go because she did not inform her parents that he was in fact, black. But, despite the hesitation, he decided to go anyway. When they arrived at her parents' house Rose's father, Dean Armitage, played by Bradley Whitford, almost immediately began to act "black" by saying slurs like "man" and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. My Favorite Movie Essay Every person can relate to being asked the question: "What's your favorite movie?". Most of the time this is a very tricky question for people to answer, simply because there are so many viable options to chose from. Strangely enough, if you were to ask a movie director or producer what their favorite films are, they'd give you a straightforward and honest answer consisting of only one or a few different titles that come to mind. As strange as it sounds, directors who have grown up or become accustomed to the Film Industry usually have strong set opinions and perspectives that tend to reflect in their own projects and exploits, even though they are continually surrounded by all sorts of inspirations and potential influencers. Contrary to what you might expect, these directors, editors, producers, and creators tend to remain very set in their ways and adapt their works into forms of reflectives stemming from their everyday perspective. My own aunt, Devin Adair, has worked in the film industry for nearly two decades, during which she has spent time in commercial, television, independent and studio film markets, finally chasing her own dream of creating her own masterpiece of film. Her, like many before, came into the industry bright–eyed and hopeful, awaiting the great and many potential opportunities. But she came to realize that the road leading there would have many twists and turns, each producing more and more speed bumps along the way. Her story is one of battling Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay About My Favorite Movie For as long as I can remember the Adventures of the Wilderness Family has been my favorite movie. I was fascinated by how close to nature Pat, Skip, Jenny, and Toby were and particularly how close to wildlife they were. Every time I watched that movie I was just in awe of how beautiful it was and how they could sustain themselves and persevere through anything including multiple animal attacks. When I was a kid I always imagined running free in a field filled with flowers and being so close to nature and feeling free to explore my own little world. I have watched this movie countless times and have purposely never examined any faults the movie might have because I enjoyed it exactly the way it was. I never looked at it and actually saw...show more content... Whenever a character got attacked they seemed to take it really lightly, when realistically that is life–threatening. Childhood me really appreciated this movie for the kind of life I hoped to live when I got older. As a kid I would spend a lot of time by the pond outside my dad's house and exploring the woods and backyard with my brothers and my Dad and watching this movie made me look toward the possibility of one day living a life that ultimately felt free from my parents' issues and social conflicts and allowed me to find the heart and soul of who I am and depend on myself as I felt in a way I always had. As a kid I felt like the odd duck out sometimes and felt trapped between my parents as I still do today, so moving to a place like Gunnison National Forest seemed like the ultimate sense of freedom to me. I wasn't looking for a place where I felt like I was free from all of the issues I had to deal with growing up and I could thrive as an individual without having to worry about having the coolest new things that my elementary peers had before it was uncool or eventually about having the latest Apple products or designer handbags. A lesson this movie really pushes to heart on its viewers is the importance of reducing materialistic values. During the time that this movie was produced America started becoming more urban and building new cities. The start of the movie takes Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Describe an interesting film you saw recently. You should say; What is the title? When did you see it? What is the story about? And explain why this movie was interesting to you. It showed the director's extensive imagination and creativity. I was preoccupied...show more content... While providing valuable information, they can also offer entertainment. Depending on what kind of movies you watch, you can relieve your stress, be entertained or impressed, and be informed. Movies can be one form of news media and be reflective of our society and time. Q. Do you believe that the movie rating system is necessary for current films? Yes, definitely. Nowadays, there are too many films which contain violent and sexual contents. So, it's very harmful for children or teenagers. Thus, it is inevitable to have rating system to distinguish the people who can see the film from those who cannot. Q. What do you think about the violence on TV or in films? The violence on TV or in films is terrible nowadays. It seems like movie producers do not care about innocent children or teenagers who might be affected by those horrible scenes. There was an incidence that one child imitated the crime on a film and killed his brother. So, I think there should be much strict laws against the violence on TV. Q. Do you think movies are better recently than they were in the past? As far as special effects are concerned, yes, movies are definitely better now. But I don't think the stories are necessarily better than those produced in the past. In fact, I think a lot of the time movie markers concentrate too much on special effects and forget about a plot. Q. What sort of topics do movie producers consider for the films? Since movies try to picture out the reality as well as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay on Film Making Film Making Film production phases Film production is the process of making a film starting from the story or idea through scriptwriting, shooting to the distribution of the movie to the audience. There are four main phases involved in film making. Development phase In the development phase, the film is written from the story (Cones, p. 195). The story may come from a book, a play, another film or an original idea developed by the film producer. During the development of the film, the film producer works in corroboration with the film writers to develop the film message and a theme of the message. They then prepare a synopsis of the film. It is aimed at making the film ready to be distributed to the viewers (Barbara and Sphor, p. 1–3). In this phase, the production scripts and items are assembled to make a complete movie. According to Barbara and Sphor (2002), activities involved in the post–production phase include film processing and printing. Moreover, the pictures and the sound are synchronized in the post–production phase, and an assemblage created. After the movie has been completed, it is then ready to be distributed to the viewers. Narrative films According to Pramaggiore and Wallis (p. 8), narrative films produce comedy or tragedy. Therefore, in narrative films, viewers expect the stories of human actors that produce comedy or tragedy due to circumstances. According to Pramaggiore and Wallis (p. 8), viewers of narrative films would expect to see stories about people who in the attempt to achieve certain objectives or goals undergo through various obstacles on their way. Mise–en–scene This is a term used in film production and that is concerned with the way the story is told in a film (Gibbs, p. 5–10). As such it refers to all the elements of visual styles used in the film. Mise–en–scene refers to all components of the film composition including the film composition, film framing, camera and character movement, film lighting as well as the sound used in the film composition. In the movie "The Karate Kid", Daniel, the main character, and his mom moved to the California from New Jersey because of his mom's new job offer. Daniel started going to school in California and met a girl named Ali, whom he started to like. He started going out with her. Daniel was getting beat up by some bullies; one of them was Ali's ex–boyfriend. They knew karate very well, but Daniel did not. So Daniel decided to learn karate. Good teachers can make their students' future better because students follow what their teachers say. On the contrary, bad teachers have the power to make their students' future horrible because then the student will follow what the bad teachers say. Do you believe that moving to California can change the person they are? In the movie, when Daniel moved to the California, he felt lonely. He did not have any friends; he was frustrated and started begging his mom to go back home when the bullies made his life hell. After meeting Mr. Miyagi and his new friend Ali, who became his girlfriend, he started learning the lessons of life and started liking the new place. In the beginning, Daniel believed that karate was all about fighting, but after meeting Mr.Miyagi, he learned that karate is all about balance, which is important in a person's life. When he got injured on his left leg during the final round in the karate championship tournament, he decided to play the final point by balancing himself on one leg, knocking down his opponent, and achieving victory. Overall, good friends and teachers have significant influences over a teenager's life. Life's hard for people who migrate to a country. Did you ever think about immigrants who come from another country? First of all, I identify with this movie because Daniel moves from New Jersey to California. • 11. The Job of a Film Director Essay The Job of a Film Director The film director has an elaborate job, classed as an art in its own sense. Its meticulous details and multi million dollar bills at the end make a director's job truly an art. How they can take the imagination and lay it on a roll of film is an array of elaborate casting, screening etc. and requires a special skill. The general meaning of the word director is: В· The leader of a course of action or actions В· A person who leads someone or something In this case I shall be writing about 'Kes' a film by Ken Loach, adapted from the book "a Kestrel for a Knave" by Barry Hines. I shall...show more content... Unsure of trust or higher power, Billy is forced to a state of neglect, beautifully represented with Loach's brutal simplicity and bland surroundings. Billy then goes out to his paper round we see that his bike has been taken by Jud. We have enough information to know that Jud is a bully and that he cares not for any brotherly bond that they might have. This is further used by Loach to show hate and despair. So Billy now has to run to the shop. This is a good chance for the director to show the viewer the environment that Billy lives in; this scene really gives 'a sense of place'. The director has established to the viewer the importance of the location. We can see now that Simplicity is now used now in every aspect of the filming, even cinematography. All scenes are broad and general, no closing up to anything, maybe portraying the views of Billy. I believe there is no studio work or specially constructed sets because it contributes to the film. It gives it an air of atmosphere, realism but most importantly Simplicity. As he runs through the dilapidated slums of Barnsley there are three layers I think to the scene. First of all there is Billy about to leave school, secondly there are the terraced houses the shabby homes of the working class. This signifies his home, his barrier; he is supported (however little this may be). He does not Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Movie Reflection Essay "If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity" – John F. Kennedy. All the events I went to pertain to the idea of diversifying the world and Babson campus. At first I was really surprised to see that Babson supports these kind of events because I thought they were just strictly all about business. I found it pretty amazing that Babson students participate in the arts and that Babson hosts so many culturally diverse and open minded events and plays. In September, I went to see the screening of "I am not your Negro".In October, I went to go watch the play "Clybourne Park". In November, I went to watch the Aman show; these events took place in the Sorenson Theater. I went to see "I am not your Negro" alone because I came late to Babson and didn't really know a lot of people at the time but I was really interested in watching the documentary. Before the screening,I went to The Global lounge to get some food from Panera bread."The story of the Negro in America is the story of America, and it is not a pretty story"–James Baldwin. Walking into the theater to see this show, I could already feel the tension and suspense coming from the audience. I was a bit surprised at first because I thought a majority of the audience would be African–American, but the theater was filled diversely with people from all over . • 13. What Is My Favorite Movie Essay This might be the hardest question for me to answer. What's my favorite movie? Like books, a movie is another way to connect with fictional characters and it really is hard to choose your favorite adventure. I would have to say I enjoy the movie White Chicks and any movie that I can have a good cry and laugh on – it's hard to choose a favorite movie. Some musical artists that I love listening to is Troye Sivan and Ed Sheeran. I really enjoy 3D art, like, working with clay. I also enjoy swimming (not competitively) To me, to be literate means that you are able to read and able to comprehend sentences. Also, when you are able to read abook and envision the story unfold in your mind. To be able to read is to be able to interpret a story into your own, what you think the author is telling you. I also believe that you can read movies, music, and people etc. For example, a psychologist is able to read people's expressions and emotions. A conductor or musician reads music and is able to interpret that into music. I see movies as books but just being played intron tot your eyes instead of words...show more content... I remember thinking 'this lady was weird swallowing all these things' and 'How could she fit them in her mouth?' And 'The Rainbow Fish' by Marcus Pfister. I remember feeling the shiny scale that were 3D. I also remember after reading the book that I walked around the house giving my mom and dad things to show them that I cared for them. My parents also read me 'The Berenstain Bears' by Stan and Jan Berenstain. As I got older, I started to read them myself Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Turning A Book Into A Movie Turning a Book into a Movie for Whose Gain? The article: Turning a Book into a Movie: An Author's Perspective, written by Michael Murie as a summary of a panel, at the Boston Book Festival, in which five authors discussed their experiences when their books were turned into movies. The five authors were: Nick Flynn, Daniel Handler, Buzz Bissinger, Rachel Cohn and Andre Dubus III. Just as each of the authors books were different, their experiences in thefilmmaking process were very different. Cohn was thrilled with the production of her novel, Nick& Norah's Infinite Playlist. Cohn saw the movie as a "Two–hour advertisement for your [her] book" (Murie). In contrast, Bissinger was disappointed with the movie and TV series, which although...show more content... They both get publicity from each other, and both receive a share of the profit. If you remember in Michael Murie's article Cohn says "It's [the movie] like a two hour advertisement for your [the author's] book" (Murie). Cohn's quote illustrates the publicity the book gets from the movie, by comparing it to an advertisement. The movie gets publicity from the book in similar ways. For example the cover of my paperback copy of J.R. Tolkien's Hobbit exclaims in bold letters "Now a Major Motion Picture". Not only do both sides get publicity from each other, but both sides also share in the profit. Authors receive a profit by selling the rights of their book. Movie Producers make a fortune if the movie is a success. In addition to the publicity and profit, movie producers also receive a foundation for the movie and fans from the start, when they base their movies on books. Even though a book provides the movie producers with a foundation, the book can also stifle creativity. The five authors in Murie's article all agreed that books do not make good scripts (Murie). Often the fans of the book transform into fans and supporters of the movie. Interest in the movie is generated before the movie is even created. However excitement for movies can be generated in other ways just as easily. For example fans of Marvel Studio movies will be excited for the next Marvel movie because it carries the Marvel name. • 15. My Favorite Movies Essay Have you ever thought about what kind of movies you have watched and why you have watched them? Ever since I was a child, I always liked watching movies that had unique and interesting characteristics in it. My parents told me that when I was a child I never wanted to watch movies that were long and had boring plot. They tell me that I was very fussy on what movies I wanted to watch, and that I always watched movies that encouraged or taught kids something good about behaviour or environment.. Since my parents told me this, I can now very much relate to my childhood and I think that I have not changed at all. This is because I am still very picky about the movies I watch. All the movies should have certain characteristics such as acting, villain, and plot in order to be considered good movies by the audience. Without a good actor in a movie, the movie will seem mundane to the audience watching it. One of the movies that I think has good acting is Home Alone. In this movie, there is a boy name Kevin who is left behind at his house while his family goes on a vacation. This movie is all about how Kevin, an eight year old boy, faces difficulties while he is alone at his house and learns that two burglars are planning to rob his house. I think this movie is great and entertaining because it shows how an eight year old kid deals with the robbery that was going to take place in his house all by himself. Another movie that I believe has good acting is Star Wars– The Force Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Bryan Singer also showed in his movies, his outlook of society and misfits. This brings up another feature a dominant director must have in order to create a great film. The director must make himself the primary author or voice of the movie. Through the director's film we should be able to see one person's way of viewing the world. Hence, with a dominant director, he would have the potential to change the way we see the world. Thus, this is another quality that goes into creating a great film. Another feature that creates a great film is the existence of a grand, related to the scenes musical score. Music is generally used in films to support the visual images and the action. Namely with it no verbal communication need to be required for certain scenes, since the music itself conveys what is going to happen or what is happening. Hence, it can be said that music adds to a film dramatic effects and establishes moods. To illustrate this point, movie musical composer Jerry Goldsmith stated, "music shows certain scenes and it definitely gives a film the energy it needs". An example of a movie with a musical score that has greatly enhanced the scenes is the 1968 classic "The Planet of The Apes". In this movie, the music was so blended in, that terrifying scenes were felt even before they happened. However, it should be noted that in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Even if one plans on becoming a director and not a screenwriter one needs to know what kind of scripts to look for. This is very important for a beginning small movie director since the reader will most likely be writing their own scripts to get some recognition. A script is a document that outlines every aural, visual, behavioral, and lingual element required to tell a story, according to the dictionary definition at www.Wikidpedia.org. It is crucial to remember that film is a visual medium. One doesn't tell the audience the story, one shows them. So what one will be writing is not a novel but more like explaining a dream on paper. One must learn to write a screenplay visually. As famed director Darren Aronofsky said in an interview with a struggling screenwriter trying to get published, "Most of what one writes that doesn't work on screen will just be improvised on the movie set". There are many important requirements for screenplays that may seem like minutia at first glance but the format of ones script is extremely important since it will be submitted along with hundreds of others to one producer. For example, the main font in use in the U.S. by both publishers and the Hollywood film industry is Courier 12 pitch According to AFI (American Film Industry) the basics of screenwriting. • 18. Cinematography Essay examples Today, the movie industry has become a huge moneymaker in the entertainment business. You cannot turn on the television without seeing advertisements for the next big blockbuster film. While most of the films these days entertain with amazing special effects or raunchy comedy, there are still films that thrive because of great acting, directing, and editing. Three films that I believe would be great examples of the way these aspects can cause a film to excel are ?Any Given Sunday?, ?The Cell?, and ?Almost Famous?. ?Any Given Sunday? shows how, by using editing, a movie can portray an intense situation realistically. In ?The Cell?, color is used to differentiate between how we see things in reality and how...show more content... While watching this movie you truly feel like you are in the game. ?The Cell?, instead of focusing on accurately portraying reality, takes you to the dream world. Catherine Deane, played by Jennifer Lopez, is a child psychologist involved in an experimental project that allows her to travel inside the mind of coma victims to try to draw them away from their fears and thus out of their coma. This movie portrays the journey inside the mind much like you would depict a dream. When Deane is inside a young child, whose main concern seems to be a fear of the ?boogie man?, the world she enters is a beautiful desert scene where the sky is bright blue with puffy white clouds. She is always dressed in bright white dresses and seems to glow. This depicts that she has earned the child?s trust. All color is brighter in this dreamlike world. Even though these experiments had not been successful bringing the child out of the coma, Dean was able to learn a lot about the child. This caused a couple of detectives to approach her about entering the mind of a serial killer who had slipped into a coma with the goal of discovering the location of his most recent captive. • 19. A Bad Movie : What Makes A Movie Bad? I don't know about you, but I love going to the movies. The smell of the popcorn, a crowded theater and a hopefully great movie can make for an enjoyable experience. However, there are those times where someone in your theater makes the experience horrible. It can make a great movie into a terrible experience, and it can make a bad movie worse. With this paper, I intend to give you some helpful pointers on how to avoid making a movie bad for those around you. Hopefully if you don't already follow some of these hints you will in the future. Good theater etiquette starts before you even get to the theater. Some of the worst experiences I have had have involved people coming into the movie after the movie has started. It is never great when someone comes in late and either must walk in front of you or try to squeeze around you to get to a seat. If you come in late then you must choose your battle. If its close enough to the beginning of the movie then hopefully you can manage to get to a seat during the opening credits. If you come late, try to get to a seat while disturbing as few people as you can. Do not try squeezing into the middle of the row when there are seats available on the end. One time I was sitting and trying to pay attention as the movie started when someone decided to squeeze down the row. Being tall that means I need to stand up, instead of just moving my legs. There I was, as the movie is starting, standing up and blocking the view of people behind me as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. My Greatest Movies Essay There are remarkably multiple amazing movies to choose from.If I had to pick 10 of the greatest films of all time they would include suspense and action. The list of movies that I have picked out are in my opinion the greatest films of all time. In the cinema, there are hundreds and hundreds of memorable moments and scenes from many films. The reason behind this is because the ten movies that I have picked out have compelled me to ''relive'' the moment. Therefore they give me a memory that I will hold on to. If a movie changes you mine it's not because of your reasoning it's because of your emotions that you feel towards the movie. My 10 greatest films must be films that fascinate me and pull me in quickly. They need to embezzle my attention and keep me entertained at all times. Therefore my 10 greatest films are: 1) Moana After seeing this movie multiple times, this movie is by far my favorite film. It's not because it is a disney film or even a kids movie it's because all the elements in this movie was well executed. The animation of this film was done beautifully and done with great detail. In the film you can tell how much time and effort was put in and how the animators took the time to work on each section of the movie. The soundtrack of moana was beautifully written and composed. Another reason that moana is my number one movie is because she is not a princess. In the movie she is trained to be the chief and wants be for her island and her people. In addition to that the characters in the film that we encounter are very compelling. We watch them change, and grow and react throughout the movie. Lastly, the story was very strong Moana had conflicts, and goals and knew how to overcome the conflicts to get to her goals. 2) The Hunger Games One of the main reasons why I chose The Hunger Games as my second choice is because it is a very intense and suspenseful movie. In this film what I really liked was that there was love, loss and explosion. You never knew what was going to happen which I enjoyed because I knew it was going to be a very superb movie. The actors and actresses in this movie were picked out marvelously. Each character in this movie played their part as if the Hunger Games existed. The Get more content on HelpWriting.net
