One of our Values is Teamwork and this was incorporated into our Assemblies on Friday 6th November 2020. At the P1-3 Assembly Clara, Emily, Isla, Tiana and Carla from P7C gave a presentation on water pollution affecting our oceans. Mr Hunter followed this up by reading "Tickly Octopus" by Ruth Galloway. At the P4-7 Assembly the focus was on Learner Participation teams at Sciennes. The P7 Captains, as part of the Junior Leadership Team, were introduced at both Assemblies.

9. Why Is Water Pollution A Problem And What
Causes It?

10. • Plastic eaten by fish can be
eaten by humans when we
eat fish for dinner.
• Pollution is damaging our
wildlife and disrupting the
food chain.
• There are lots of causes of
water pollution some
caused by oil and other by
gasses being realised into
the atmosphere.

11. How Does Pollution Effect Animals?

12. • Animals don’t know the
differences between
plastic and food and
often they eat the plastic
and die.
• Animals are smaller and
so they get more
affected by plastic than
humans.

14. • Don’t throw unnecessary Things in the
toilet such as sanitary products, sweet
wrappers, wet wipes and nappies.
• When you are at the beach keep it looking
nice by throwing rubbish in the bin.
